A Breton needs nobody to drink!!!! Nobody but his closest friends...
Well, most of the people know the fun part of me... Fair enough... They like the way I can go mad on session, the way I drink, the way I can do stupid things for the craic! The other part doesn't interest them, that I can understand... Actually, the bunch of crap that I am about to write will never interest anyone! Hopeless? Nevertheless true.
I noticed that most of the people I know in Eirean hide their feelings, which I consider a lack of honesty. But it appears to be a way to protect themselves from being emotionally hurted. I am not one of these persons... The share of feelings makes the difference between animals and humans. If everybody were sharing their feelings about the war (for example) somebody like GW Bush would probably not be the USA president. If we were sharing a common feeling about loneliness, less people would walk alone.
The fact is, when somebody (other than celebrities or friends) is trying to share his emotions, there is always somebody else to look down on him, somebody pretending to be better, invincible. That's maybe the reason, in France, my friends and I tried to spot them, and slag them until they feel like crap... Not clever but nobody is invincible.
Ask yourself that question: why is everybody looking for friends? What is your first reaction when you see somebody with no friends?
Most will think they would be nobody without friends, and that is the evidence that everybody needs to share feelings and emotions to feel alive. Now if you had no friends I would be thinking that you are probably one of these persons too honest, sharing every emotions with anyone he meets, who wouldn't give a damn slagging somebody he met for the first time. You'd be frank but not politically correct, and most of the people surrounding you will talk behind your back, making fun of you but in a coward way. Finally, they would probably do the same but... They have friends!
Well tonight, I want to be one of these lonely wanderers. And I just want to share my emotions with everybody, getting drunk on my own like a true French from Bretagne!
Back in France 3 years ago I used to have those kind of depressing nights getting drunk with my two best friends. Sad tunes as background, we were telling sad stories, speaking about death, love (almost the same as death), hopeless feelings, etc... In the end of the night (or the bottles of whisky) we used to find ourselves almost crying like girls, taking an oath to each other like in a brotherhood before falling asleep (or into alcoholic coma). The next morning, waking up, we were feeling much better like awesome! And we still consider these nights at home like the best we could ever have.
Tonight, I'm doin the same, sad tunes in the background ("Hmm hmm" by Crash Test Dummies) a bottle of vodka smirnoff, but... My best mates are in France. So I've nobody to share that moment of my life with... And then, a Breton doesn't need anyone to drink... Anyway I'm not going out, just getting drunk here at home, the French way.
Most of you would ask something like: "Why? Why are you doing that? You don't need it!
Well I do need it to feel better. ("Dust in the Wind" Kansas, my favourite). Now the reason is Death; today one of my very good friend's father died and I am so sorry for her (she was a daddy's girl), then it reminded me the way I was when my father died 10 years ago. It reminded me the way I felt like if my fundations were made of clay, my whole world gone... Nothing have been the same since that day, that God damn day : 28th August 1998... I still miss him so much, i'd like to hear his voice, to get drunk with him like he promised me, to be his best wing mate... Mon père ce héros... So many things we never got a chance to do together papa! So many things we will never do together papa!
My heart is still undone, filled with regrets and remorses. Remorses? Yes, but that is a different story much more complicated... So I can perfectly im1 Comment 304 weeks
