    One man killed, another wounded during argument at Birmingham hotel
    Wednesday, April 30, 2008
    One man was killed and another wounded during an argument at a Days Inn in Birmingham.

    Quinton Washington, 23, died Monday night when gunfire erupted at the hotel at 905 11th Court West.

    His 24-year-old male friend, whose name hasn't been released by police, was wounded.

    The shooting happened about 11:40 p.m. when Washington and his friend were visiting someone who lives at the hotel, said Birmingham homicide Sgt. Cory Hardiman. A group of people had gathered there, he said.

    A dispute between two parties of visitors broke out and shots were fired. Washington was found lying on the third-floor walkway. Paramedics pronounced him dead on the scene.

    The other victim was found wounded on the second-floor walkway. He was taken to University Hospital. His condition was unknown.
