- Music
- Music has been a driving force behind a great portion of my life. there IS a soundtrack to life and mine is a random one. Growing up all i listened to was christian rock. In church i watched a guy playing bass and loved it so much i asked him to teach me. It took a year before he started and in the mean time i started teaching myself guitar slowly. after a brief month of bass lessons from him, he left the church and i was left to play bass for everything. From there i went on to playing for my highschool jazz choir and then for another couple churches. one of which had 6 services a weekend and about 500 people in each service. about 4 years ago i started rhyming and let my musical talents take me in that direction. Now i can play a touch of guitar, i'm descent w/ a bass (mine is a 5 string fender) and give me a microphone and a beat and i'll own the show.
what you'll find currently in my cd player would be... snow patrol, the frames, t.i., paolo nutini, lil wayne, nickelback. - Films
- There is a large variety of films i'll sit and watch... boondock saints, the transporter, snatch, count of monte cristo, unusual suspects, the way of the gun, good luck & goodnight, thank you for smoking, superhero films, pride and predjudice, 3 amigos, harvey, singin in the rain.... there's too many to list. lol
- Sports
- If music has guided one side of my life, sports have led the other. As a kid i played a bit of baseball, but got scared of people throwing the ball too fast once i started getting older so i stopped. lol never played football (american) or soccer, but i loved basketball. for a long time my dream was to be a pro, even though i was never an amazing player. heheh
when i turned 17 i started fencing and finally found what i was best at. i've fenced for 6 1/2 years now. this is the second year i've taught my own students, but had taught as an assistant for my instructor for a couple years before this. now my dream is to run my own school and get a master at arms degree to work in theatre and film as a fight instructor. - Scared Of
- not much anymore.... there are always things that will frighten you, but its simple believeing in yourself and your ability to overcome things that will pull you through. Believe in yourself and let God carry you. thats the ticket
- Happiest When
- honestly.... and it took teaching my first day of classes yesterday to be reminded of this... i'm the absolute happiest when teaching my kids to fence. This year i've got 50+ students between 4 classes and may add a 5th. I've got a lot of names to remember, but teaching these kids to do some magical thing that they've only thought possible to watch and not to do makes them feel like they've accomplished something special. out of the ordinary and the looks on their faces as they learn each new thing makes me feel like i'm on top of the world. its the greatest feeling you can get.
