Strangley i have a fear of small heights... I have no problem with flying but if you put me 20 feet up ill likely get very nervous!

New Projects
Well as some of you may or may not know i am no longer playing bass. Truth be told i need a new challange and have found this in picking up the guitar with a more serious intent. I have been working hard on applying the music theory i know and approaching this from a guitarist point of view, working hard on improving my chops and spending lots of money on new toys including a new strat and new pedals. Next up is a good valve amp.
So where do i go from here?
Well its now getting around the time where i need to get out there and start playing again. I have been in a band constantly for 12 years and this is actually the longest ive gone without playing in a band (albeit i am working with a covers band for the pure random fun of it all).
So do i start my own band?
Do i try and find a band to join?
I guess ill see what happens.

    • Whats goin on?

      Howday.
      Well what can i say about the events of the last wee while? Talk about life changing.
      So first of all the last few weeks. I guess this is where the mass of activity has really kicked off. I visited Amsterdam recently and totally fell for the place. So much so that i kinda decided that i am going to live there at some stage of my life. Origionally i had planned to go over Spring 2009. This plan has changed and been put on hold for the timebeing as i now have a lady in my life.
      Ive known Louise for a long time now but we kinda just got together last week after spending time together at the cottage.
      With me telling the band i was going to Amsterdam soon between us we kinda decided that i should move on and let someone else take over as bass player. I have absolutely nothing but good memories from my time with Silva and wish them all the best in finding a bass player and for the future they deserve.
      Work is going well. Although my long term career will be with somewhere else. Good experience is being gained.
      Speaking of work... thats what im supposed to be doing.

      Right i know its late and all that .. especially on a school night .... but...

      Why is it the things you end up wanting in life seem to be
      a) Impossible to get
      b) Totally the wrong thing for you
      c) The opposite of what you expect
      d) Fake
      e) What you want because you cant have it

      Also, do you think you can convince yourself of something if you keep telling yourself it for long enough?
      Whats the deal with all this? Why do i even think about these things? Am i slowly losing it? Did i even have it?

      End of Rant now so im going to sleep as im up in a few short hours.... Deep Joy
