    • UTD-Piha, Waitakere- Boot Camp

      big 3 day adventure, walked 35 Kms in 11 hours on the first day (with a 40kg bag on our backs each and really uncomfortable boots) 10am till 9pm through the mountain ranges (saw an owl and a huge green moth, drank stream water, saw a dam etc) from the waitakere train station to the piha beach camp site and then bedded down in crappy tents, second day went out to rock fish but got stuck on the rock coz of high tide, piha waves r huge and nasty, and didnt catch any fish, stayed there baked in the sun for 4 hours then couldnt take it anymore we waded throught the sea with the waves with our stuff on our heads (the water was chest high not considering the waves) then it got impossible to wade so we climbed across this cliff being battered by the waves, my mate mike almost got swept off and suffered hardout wounds, by the time we got bak we went lake fishing, caught 3 little baby makerels which we beheaded, gutted and cooked to eat, and um 3rd day hitch hiked to the nearest town and took the bus bak, we are badly sunburnt, swollen bleeding blisters and cramps :Z
