Accident's do happen
I had an accident at work on the 08.08.06, I fell a few meter's of a platform and landed on a couple of iron girder's with my back, whiplashing my head onto the concrete floor, good job that I fell backward's as I would have hated to have seen that coming
. I woke up in hospital a couple of day's later feeling awfull. The injuries are slowly healing, and are causing me pain and problem's on a day to day basis. I'm still in pain but soldiering on.

A week off
What a week, briliant wonderfull are but a few word's to describe it.
On Saturday I drove down to Tirol in Austria, with the intention of just camping, spending some time by myself away from it all. I went to the Plansee, which is a lake in the mountain's. Breath taking view's everywhere you go to & look. I have seldom been so impressed by a place.
At the camping area they have a Diving school in situ., which I put to good use. I booked in and set up my tent next to the diving school, walked over and introduced myself to Milo, explaining that I wanted to dive again. Milo asked me to come back later, so I went and made lunch, the German equivilent to pot noodles, yum yum yuk!!!
Having got changed into swimming trunks and 'T' shirt I strolled over and was introduced to Petra with whom I was to be diving with. We chatted for a while then we got changed into the diving kit and took a quick walk over to the lake. The temperature was about 28°C and wearing the kit was making me sweat, thankfully we only had a hundred or so meters to go. Then we got sorted, spat in the mask's, swilled em out and flipper's on and we were in the water. I don't know if Petra believed me or not about my previous dive experience or not, but we did a quick suck and blow before moving off, I was glad that she did, as I immeadiately started laughing, breaking the seal with the regulator and started swallowing water. After getting sorted out we moved off, going down to about 10m and the turned right contouring the shore line. It was different, we saw quite a lot of fish, and there are some crab's down there too. I had a problem with the new vest's, at least they were new to me, you can adjust your dive depth by inflating them some or releasing air out of them, well I put to much air in mine. The result being me surfacing at speed (feet first), trying to release air out of the vest all the while. I don't know if any one there got pic's of the flipper's that suddenly appeared on the surface or not, all the while Petra was just below me giving me the what the hell are you doing boy look. I was sorted out in no time and down I went again, I had let to much air out of the vest and with the wieght belt I was going straight down to the bottom. Where I played with the vest for a while, putting just a little air at a time in, and seeing what effect that had on thing's, I mastered it pretty soon and we continued our dive. When we got back I was amazed to see that we had been down for 40min's. We had a good laugh at my new experience with the vest, and we decided to give it another go on the next afternoon.
I spent the rest of the day just dozzing in the sun and brewing up as required, eventually going to bed at 20:00hrs. I awoke the next morning to the cow bell's in the field next to the camping area, I always found the sound they make soothing. So refreshed I got up and got a brew on, started breakfast, realizing what a view I had I got the camera and tripod out and started taking some happy snap's (hope you like em). After breakfast I packed a daysack and off I went into the mountain's, I had just moved off the path that goes arround the lake and started moving zigzag up the side of the mountain when I saw my first Gams, I then moved up to the top of first of the two mountains that I covered that day. The first being at 1498m ASL didn't have a name(at least on my map it didn't), there I saw the second and third Gams, I had disturbed them. There I spent about 15 or so minutes taking a break, then I moved off on the next streatch to the top of Schoenjoechl (1651m). The horse flies where there for good, and I used stacks of Autan, as the said horse flies let me know when I'd sweated it off. Once I reached the top of Schoenjoechl it was time for lunch and a quick check to see if I could contact the Italian team that were having a PMR-DX day from the top of Mont Blon, (on returning home I checked the web and found out that they had binned the attempt due to b0 Comments 366 weeks

Christmas, a thing of the past, or something to be celebrated on the quiet?
I have never been a mad churchy type of person, even though I'm a christian in my wn way. The curent escalation of the politically correct bullie's that are moving through our society telling us," that we can't do this that or the other as it may offend someone". P!sse's me off!!!
What ever happened to phrase's like, " when in Rome do as the roman's do"????
I don't think that Christmas is about to be outsoursed or even phased out of our live's, due to the ammount of money that the retailer's make out of it. That would really make the peep's sit up & listen, if HMG banned Christmas!!! To appease the PC brigade.
What is hate crime? I'm amazed that anyone who is homophobic, is eventually guilty of this crime.
Surely then, the hunter's and target shooter's of our great nation are victim's of such hate crime? I read somewhere that for the next Olympic's, that are to be held in the UK. The shooting team's are having to go to France to do their training, and if they can't afford to do so they can't compete for England. Even the specially built range's complex that is to be used for the Olympic's will be flatenend after the event, how teribly sad.
I won't even try to make excuses for what happend in Dunblane, because their arnt any. It was a very sad affair, my thought's go out to those who lost loved one's especially at this time of year.
Where are we going? What is in store for us in the future? Are the killjoy's PC's and chav's going to rule Britania?0 Comments 396 weeks
