Hi all....This is Leanne...This blog was written up by Jade below, I sold her my Hearts & Dagger singlet and she wore it to there concert as I did with mine below She wrote this VERY detailed blog so thought I woud share it with you all, she wrote an amazing description of how AWESUM our night was!!!! ENJOY Oh and there concert date was also special to Thomas and I as it was our 12th wedding anniversary!!! XOXOX

AMI Stadium, Sunday, 27th January, 2008

Local band, The Valve, opened at 7.30pm. I guess they gave their best but I was saving my eardrums. Everyone else saved their legs.

The crowd of 30,000 pouring in.


Spot on 8.30pm, there was excitement in the air when three cars drove in to the left of the stage. A few seconds later, the Jovis took their place on the stage with great applause from the audience which hit the roof of the sky when JON appeared; perfectly groomed in a leather jacket, flashing smiles and sunglasses to face the setting sun. Thankfully, he took the latter off after a few songs when the sun was truly gone. He 'blessed' the stage, spitting to his left and off we went!

What better song to kick off the Lost Highway concert than HEY HEY!! The Lost Highway itself. We went on a rockin', non-stop high energy ride; each of us in our own world yet collectively in a trance worshipping our dashboard Jesus.


" I've travelled a loooooong, looooong way to get here. Get up on your seats, get up on your seats!! ARE YOU WITH ME?" Of course we were, yeah!! "Are you with me?"

Some of us got up on our chairs "Shot through the heart and you're to blame! That's more like it!" Shortly, we got off the chairs, not wanting to block the view for others.

On to the second song, 'You Give Love a Bad Name'. The crowd responded to this old hit with a loud 'shot through the heart and you're to blame!!!'

Then we 'raised our hands' along with Jon. It's evident he sure had 60,000 hands in his two palms. "Good evening Christchurch, New Zealand, on a Sunday night. You have waited too long, right darlin'? I've missed you, I've missed you. I told you I'd call, I called, seven years later, I called... We've got a long way to go people!" Actually, it's been 12 years since they last came, so I was told. Take your time, it could never be too long, may the journey never end, Jon. Then they launched into Complicated, Captain Crash, Runaway and The Story of My Life.



"How are we going so far, great!! Thank you, this is a good night for this kind of stuff" and the heavy jamming of electric guitars told us to "Have a Nice Day", another song the audience came to hear. With the whole crowd singing 'have a nice day' back to Jon, I hope he did have a good one. I sure did!

After 'In These Arms' and 'Blood on Blood' , we went 'Knockin' on Heavens' Door' with 'Blaze of Glory' and 'A Whole Lot of Leavin''.

'Born to be my Baby' ... I wish! "You sound a little tired to me out there" so he said and we screamed our lungs out just for him. What wouldn't we do for him?



Good, 'We Got it Going On' and he said, "I've come a looooong way tonight. It's for one reason - to hear you SCREEEEEEEEAM!!!" The folks living up on Cashmere hills could hear us. That's how loud we screamed. Only for you, Jon!



Then he told me ....it's my life, I ain't gonna live forever, it's now or never and I should live while I'm alive. So true, thanks!



Time for a dose of 'Bad Medicine' and 'Shout'. "I don't think these people can keep up with me. I gotta know, I gotta know, I gotta know, are you with me or not!!" and he said he'd let his friend Richie sing the next song for us.
