- Me, Myself, and I
- Born in Surrey 19 years ago, Steve started playing piano aged 6 and, encouraged by his family, quickly discovered an aptitude for music. By his teens Steve had also self-taught himself guitar, and was starting to record his own songs at home in a rudimentary bedroom studio. "I had a low budget setup, but enough to master the basics of production,".
Aged 15, Steve landed himself a job in a Soho restaurant, playing four hours of jazz piano twice weekly as diners ate fine French cuisine. "Playing the restaurants was where i discovered my love for the performing side of music, getting paid for it was a bonus. I used to improvise a lot and made sure no song ever sounded the same twice".
Steve has recently taken his unique sound onto the live circuit, backed by a five piece band.
One listen to Steve Appleton would dispel any notion that he is 'just another singer-songwriter'.. There is no one else who makes pop music quite like this. Check him out at www.steveappletonmusic.com
