- Having spent my err ... formative years at a Catholic boys' school in the north of Engalnd (cue buggery and soggy biscuit jokes), I headed up to Edinburgh to study Medicine. Five years and a whirlwind of sex, drugs and rock n roll (well 2 out of 3 isn't bad) later, I left a well adjusted pillar of the community having met the love of my life, my better half - the enchanting Miss Christiane.
September 2004, Chrissie and I packed our bags (some were heavier than others) and headed over to New Zealand's West Coast - a 600 km strip of land, nestled in lush rainforest, bounded by the turbulent Tasman Sea and the towering Southern Alps.
18 months and several fond memories later we're back in Scotland ... to be continued
