Oh yes we are! scarily they think that we are ready to go and meet the strange entity they refer to as "real soldiers"...but I unfortunately still have quite a bit of time to wait until I get to find out for myself what they are like but I have managed to scrape over the first hurdle with little resembling elegance or style but who cares! Just wanted to let everyone know that I survived my commissioning ball (just about) and had an awesome time. Thank you so much to everyone that managed to come to see me for it, I very much appreciate it as most had to travel quite far. hope everyone made it back safely (was a struggle for me) and is now sleeping...0 Comments 328 weeks

Choice of Arms
So the time has finally come that I am for one writing in this blog thing and much more importantly, had to decide what I want to do for the rest of my time in the army. I was lucky enough to get offered a place with both Artillery and Engineers so I had to make a hard decsion within 48h. After thinking about it very carefully and weighing up all the different aspects, including as stupid a thing as what my beret will look like (you get desperate when you can imagine yourself doing both), I have decided I want to commission into the ROYAL ENGINEERS. so far I am really happy with the decision, when it comes to the much tougher troop commanders course I might regret it but will take things as they come. hope everything is going well with everyone else. we have to have an aberdeen reunion sometime soon to see where everyone is up to with their lives...2 Comments 339 weeks

Hey Gem, Thanks so much for the invite and I am sorry for slow reply. I would absolutely love to come down to Sandhurst but with the introduction of the new JPA system it means that I have not been paid and therefore cannot afford to give you any money until the next pay day. I will try and sort something by the end of the week and let you know. Hope that is ok, that should give you time to sell it on or whatever. Hope your final few weeks are going well, I bet you are very excited. Are you looking forward to your final ex? XX
