- The Kiserian Children’s Project aims to provide a quality standard of living and improved access to education as well as a safe and healthy environment for all those it cares for in St Joseph’s Orphanage in Tanzania.
The project was set up by Dublin born Paul Carey. He worked with the administrator of the orphanage to provide the children of St Joseph’s Orphanage with more than a basic level of comfort. His vision was to give the children a secure safe place to live, learn and play.
As of May last year the Kiserian Children’s Project became a registered charity. Last years event in Barcode, which was called PaulAid, raised over €14, 000. This money went to feeding, clothing and educating the children in St Josephs Orphanage as well as building a pre-school and a water storage system.

CONSTITUTION
The Kiserian Children’s Project was founded by Colin Carey and Andrew Norton in April 2006.
The Arusha region is plagued by a myriad of social, economic and cultural problems. As a result of these problems a phenomenon known as the “street kids”, has now entered society.
These “street kids” are children who roam the streets of urban areas begging a sniffing glue, exposed to diseases, particularly HIV/AIDS, they live without a future and without food, education or medical care.
Their parents are either deceased, incapable of raising them or have abandoned them to the hazards of life in the city and its surrounding areas.
With the worsening economic situation, their numbers are constantly on the increase.
It is as a result of this situation and with more concern and scepticism from international donors as to the misappropriation of funds that the Kiserian Children’s Project was set-up.
The projects aim is to build awareness and obtain international funding to help elevate the problems faced by those running child health and orphan centers in the Arusha region.
The project takes responsibility of all financial aspects of funding, this is to ensure that donations are given/spent on those it is intended for and also to protect those people who run such centers from any unscrupulous peoples.
The Kiserian Children’s Project is currently partnered with the Medical Daughters of Mary, who run the St. Josephs Children’s Health and Orphanage Center in Kiserian, Arusha.
