About Me

Me, Myself, and I
I live in Middlesbrough, and I try and get back to my home town (Whitehaven) when I can to see my family! Love rugby league but no one plays or watches it over here!
I'm working for SABIC petrochemicals near Redcar as a Control Engineer and they're paying for me to do a degree at Northumbria uni one day a week,I'll be in my last year next year then I'll be officially (if not actually) clever!

Erm... if you want to know anything else you'll just have to ask because I have to keep some secrets back lol!
Music
Erm.. loads, Muse, My chemical romance, Panic at the disco, Queen, Snow Patrol, The Cranberries, the list is endless............. oh and some brass and classical
Films
Usual suspects, the Saw films, Star wars films, James Bond films, Pulp fiction, Jackie Brown, Kill Bill and loads of others.
Sports
Rugby league - Whitehaven/Wigan,
Football - Everton,
World superbike - James Toseland (Honda),
Moto gp - Casey Stoner (Ducati)
Scared Of
erm.... needles I suppose and heights, well falling from heights
Poem - IF
If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too:
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or, being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise;

If you can dream -- and not make dreams your master;
If you can think -- and not make thoughts your aim,
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same:
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools;
IF continue............
If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings,
And never breathe a word about your loss:
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on!"

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings -- nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much:
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And -- which is more -- you'll be a Man, my son!

-- Rudyard Kipling

  • Yet more wise words!

    Ones I really like:

    - Even the greatest of whales is helpless in middle of desert.
    - War does not determine who is right, war determine who is left.
    - "Hear and you forget; see and you remember; do and you understand."
    - It is never too late to be what you might have been.
    - It takes both sunshine and rain to make a rainbow.
    - You can lead a fool to wisdom but you can't make him think.
    - You may only be one person to the world, but you may also be the world to one person.

    And some others:

    - Man who marries a girl with no bust has right to feel low down.
    - Squirrel who runs up woman's leg not find nuts.
    - He who fishes in another man's well often catches crab.
    - Wife who put husband in doghouse soon find him in cathouse.
    - There will come a time when you believe everything is finished. That will be the beginning.

  • Wise words for today!

    - Men marry women with the hope they will never change. Women marry men with the hope they will change. Invariably they are both disappointed.
    - It is easier to fight for principles than to live up to them.
    - The greatest mistake you can make in life is to be continually fearing you will make one.
    - Experience is that marvelous thing that enables you to recognize a mistake when you make it again.
    - The trouble with being punctual is that nobody's there to appreciate it.
