      Hoping this season will be slightly more impressive than last
      Noted are some of the ludicrous, stupid, pathetic and laughable experiences of last years regatta season!

      champs;
      "Attention........(crackle)...(noi
       se)"
      - nobody knows what is going on
      - one crew moves, the rest follow
      -umpire decides at the 400m mark that it was a false start and starts ringing his bloomin bell! You try stopping a junior 8 after 400metres!
      -umpire hurls abuse at all crews for going, but refuses to give any1 a false start as they "didnt know who jumped it"
      one word....pathetic

      Portadown;
      (i wont start on the stake boats...which arent staked at all)
      - "I will just wait for confirmation from regatta control" (scurries off to tent)
      -true definition: "i havent a bloody notion as to what is going on so will go and hide in the starters tent and gossip and hope someone else makes a decision."

      BRC SPRINTS; The home of the most amount of warnings/false starts for doing absolutely nothing.Just stare at them and u get one.

      -Queens university crews of 2005 vs 1996 crew. One crew completely off line, umpire goes ahead and starts race anyway (technically they are the starter, but as there are no umpires they did that as well...multi tasking..WAW!), crew has to slam on steering, complete waste of a race which could have been decent!
      - when questioned the umpire responded "well its not my job to align the crews" (technically it is, and well done for just ruining a race and pissing 18 ppl off coz u wer on a power trip)

      another quality one
      "Attention........QUICK START " (huh???..what rule book is that from)
      - crew move off then stop
      -abuse hurled at umpire for being a pillok
      - umpire gives both crews a false start for "jumping the start" and for telling him the proper rules of racing!

      QUEENS REGATTA
      - "junior 18 4 come to the start"
      -"oh no...its junior 16 4+...methody get off the course"
      -"oh woops..it is j18 4+....methody get back on the course"
      - complete shambles

      PORTORA REGATTA (the proper one..not the waste of time 300m one)
      - note umpires dont give false starts or warnings to crews here for turning up 30 mins late coz apparently its a "junior regatta"...Well, is it or isnt it run under IARU rules??

      - crew gets completely swamped by a huge cruiser which is going up the erne at the time of the race( yes, the umpire did start the race even though a cruiser was in the racing line)
      - complained at the end of the race and the umpire in question responded "well what do u want me to do about it, its not my problem..take it up with regatta control"
      - (which u cant do coz if u come off the water u cant make a complaint!)


      There is another BRC one i remember regarding certain girls crews at BRC...."i'll tell you when you are ready....GO!" (chris neilands can fill this one in)

      thers many more but i cant be bothered! Lets pray for a decent season this year, and not a persistant circus act instead of quality racing.

      hEY Andy, still on bebo, not much to do here at the minute, tho my boss has just announced she is taking loads of days off!!!!!!when it will be the really busy period!!! Glad to hear the rowing dinner went well. Are you looking forward to Queens?I wish I was going back! Is there anything you need for it/want particularly for your bday?       cheers, yeah there would be a few of them id quite like to get. fraid so, thats my last year at school....now i can be lazy and never exercise again:) that wont last though, haha im already gettin bored sinse stopped rowing.do you have another year left? i realy enjoyed that race, was great to get back into an 8 again!!

      There are over a hundred that i haven't put up. The rest are mostly creep photos. A lot of them are up close shots of people I'm not really close enough to for it not to be weird to put them up. ...Did that make sense? Anyway, yes it was lovely. I'm not missing the communal bathroom bant though, tbf. Also, the twins adore the fact that you play the organ.
