  • July 25 Sydney Bound

    Hey!
I'm on my way to Sydney today. Yeah it's only a 14 hour bus ride!!!! AHHH!
Anyways, the concert was amazing!! I didn't know any of the bands except Queens of the Stone Age, and Moby. I had a great time at the show, the music was very diverse. And it was great that it was spread over 2 days and not just one!
I'll tell you all about it when I get home!
This is going to be my last entry....thanks for reading:)
Thanks to all of you who posted comments, and sent me support! It really means a lot when you are half way around the world. I'm looking forward to showing you all my pictures, my sky diving DVD, and tresures I've found along the way.
I'm flying in late on the 28th and will be at my mom's for the first little while until I decide to get things started:)
    Love Ya!
    See you Soon!
    XOXO

  • July 21, The skys of Byron

    Hey gang!
I guess they've re-vamped Bebo as I hit the end of my travels.
Just wanted to write today because I had a great experience.
I skydived out of a plane at 14,000 feet! It was so crazy. Kristi and I went to the skydiving center this morning and signed our lives away. Then we had about an hour and a half delay because of the rain. We didn't even think we were going to jump today and all at once the pilot says "Let's Go!" We had been waiting for the blue sky to be above us....and it made it!!! In the plane I got a little nervous but tried to hold it together. We went tandem, and the dude on my back was really funny and cool.
So...I sat outside the plane, curved my legs underneath, tilted my head back.....and....WHAM! We flipped out of the plane and had a 70 second freefall through the sky and clouds! It was the most amazing thing I have ever done!! When Tim pulled the shute open I got to look around at the beautiful views of Byron Bay. The land, the trees, the rock and the ocean. We landed safely and I didn't even fall down!! Kristi unfortunatly landed in a puddle and had dirty wet pants for the ride home. Ha Ha!
I got a DVD which I'm sure you all will watch and laugh you're asses off! At one point I turn my head and my cheek fills with air! It's really funny to watch, but I am so glad I have it to remember today!!
    Live Large or Go Home!
    XOXO

  • July 19, Byron Bay

Wow! Time is really flying by! I can't believe I only have 9 more days in Oz!
I've been feeling really good here in Byron. At first we hung out on the beach and hacked with this old hippie guy ( who looked like Gandolf and had huge feet!!)
We were told to go and see the sunrise from the lighthouse because it was unbelievable and this is what happened....
Day one - set alarm for 5:30am
    - alarm rang and everyone decided to stay in bed:)
Day two - set alarm for 5:30am
    - everyone got up and started walking to the lighthouse
    - 5 minutes into it we realized the sun was already up and we'd missed it!
Day three - set alarm for 4:15 am!
    - We all got up and started walking under the stars. It took us about 45 minutes to get there and I was really freaked out in the places with no street lights. It was dark and all I could think of were dingos, possums, and crocs! hehe. Anyways...we made it after the adreneline rush, and it WAS unbelievable. The sunrise was beautiful itself, but we also saw humpback whales, dolphins, and a goat!
After that we went on a tour to Nimbin, the only town in Oz where smoking pot is semi-legal. The whole town was based on hemp and marajuana! WE went for the market which ended up not being very good, being run by a bunch of pot heads and all! We were offered weed, pot cookies, pot brownies, organic chocolate with bud and more! It was actually quite funny how out in the open everything was! We also went to a serene swimming hole and had a bbq by a creek.
Yesterday the girls and I went "kayaking with the dolphins". It was very different from the kayak I did on Magnetic Island. We wore helmets, the kayakes were open and we went into the waves. We did see hundreds of dolphins though. We saw them playing, swimming, and SURFING! They came right up to our kayak! At the end we tried to surf our kayaks in the waves and Krystal and I only flipped over 4 times! It was so much fun, I couldn't stop laughing!!
I saw some more live Aussie music last night, and am going to do some shopping today before the town fills up with festival people!
    Take Care! See you Soon!
