About Me

Me, Myself, and I
Born and raised right here in New Orleans, La. Worked for the Veterans Adm. for 27 yrs. An early retirement was offered in order to avoid a reduction in force, which never happened. I jumped at the opportunity and retired at the age of 47. Best thing I ever did for myself. Never wanting to work behing a desk again I Volunteered at the City Park Botanical Garden. It was a wonderful experience and also educational as I learned quite a bit about gardening, made new friends and just thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Actually ended up on the staff for a few years as I was asked to take over the Pelican Greenhouse which had just been restored. Helped turn the greenhouse into a first class facility. Felt good about that too. Wasn't really looking for another job so decided to quit the staff and return to volunteering. Stayed with the Garden for app. 8 yrs. Later learned that "Food for Friends" (part of the NO AIDS task force)was in need of help so went to help out. stayed for app. 10 yrs.

    Hey Al loved all the pics you've got on Bebo, especialy those of Mardi Gras, have you got any of Easter Sunday ???? Saw the ones Phil put up on Bebo , they're great ! Shame nothing goes on like that during summer, suppose it's too hot .
