For those who don't know yet, my first blog (on any site, ever) has been precipitated by a horrible incident concerning my leg and an insect. It seems living in St Andrews for so long has removed my natural country like hardiness, because about four days ago I noticed an insect bite just above my ankle on the back of my leg, and the next day my ankle had swelled up to twice it's normal size. Of course, I've had to stay off work for the last couple of days, but hard as that is, it's not actually all that enjoyable when you can't really walk. I hope that this clears up for the weekend, as Victor and I have a mountain expedition planned, scaling a Munro with my dad. This is also cutting into time when I could be earning money and speeding my escape from this damn place, with it's horrible pipes. The worst thing, however, is yet to come. I'm at home all day, with nothing to do, and I don't have anything to smoke! I might be losing my (already temporary) grip on reality here. I've read nearly the entire Truckers trilogy in three days. Thank god Victor's coming this weekend. The old social muscle was getting a bit week. One last discovery I made this week - I can do poi standing on one leg. Sometimes I even surprise myself with my awesomeness.
