I just had a look at the jessicasvoice.org.uk site and wanted to wish Jessica well. My husband and I are not 'victims' of the Hague Convention, although we both know what it feels like to be separated by distance from your child. My husband fought a long court battle to maintain contact with his daughter and in the end his ex wife moved to the opposite end of the country and there was nothing he could do about it. He also went to court as his ex tried to manipulate his daughter into saying she didnt want to see her Dad anymore and the judges answer was that no court in the land would make my husbands daughter see her father if she didnt want to! Yet, somehow it is ok to insist a child (in this case Jessica) is forced to go somewhere she doesnt want to be and it also happens to be in a completely different counrty. Shicking really! Good Luck. No problem. I think it's just wrong to detain children. They shouldn't be pulled out of somewhere that they are comfortable. A child needs routine and familiarity. I just read up on the hague convention and it's wrong! It states that The objects of the present Convention are - a) to secure the prompt return of children wrongfully removed to or retained in any Contracting State. b) to ensure that rights of custody and of access under the law of one Contracting State are effectively respected in other Contracting States. I'm assuming Jessica was not "removed" from spain under wrongful circumstances seeing as she is with her family. And if her father hasn't visited or made any attempt to contact her that's practically disowning the poor girl! Making her removal from England and sending back to spain completely unfair! If she's happy in England let her be. And if her Dad has a problem with that then he should get off his butt and go see her! Sorry. I'm quite opinionated
