I wish I could run away
To a place that will not crumble
Nor will darkness stand in my way
I will not fall nor trip nor stumble.
I wish this life had no imperfections
For it to be simple but also true
For it to not change tune for each and every station
That this terrible life has put me through.
I wish it turned out like we’d planned
For the word love to come alive between me and you
For us not to have one sorrow in sea nor land
But the sound of happiness never became true.
I wish id listened to that tiny little voice
That stopped me from drifting into the darkness
Instead I wondered, what if I make a different choice?
Would I have been here still, making all this fuss?

My arms around yours our fingers entwined
You made me feel no sorrow, why could you not see?

That I did not mind, that I could sit and wait
