TP coming to an end!!
Hey all!
For those of you in the know, my teaching placement in Rennes is nearly at an end! I am quite sad to leave, but pleased to be returning to the UK at the same time! We arribe into Plymouth early on Sunday morning after what has been a tiring but equally rewarding experience.
I was working with a class of 8/9 year olds for the most of my time, but also spent a couple of days observing the 'cours préparatoires' where the children learn to read and write. During my placement, I took charge of the sequence and progression of Geography and English lessons, and helped with group work and children in need of assistance. My host teacher was great - really supportive and helpful which makes such a difference.
Rennes itself is really nice. Plenty of bars and a few Irish pubs (very important!) and a wide range of restaurants.
During the 4 weeks, I spent a day in nearby Fougéres, where we were taken on a guided tour of the town. I also spent a weekend in Paris catching up with Ellie and Antoine which was nice. The highlight of that weekend was going to the Stade du France to see the French narrowly beat the Irish in what was a thrilling match!
Well, that's all for now folks! Look forward to hearing your news!!

Christmas is coming!!!
I just thought I would update you all with what's been going on in my life since I last wrote a diary entry...
As you're aware, I'm currently four months into my PGCE course at the College of St Mark and St John in Plymouth. I'm enjoying the course, and recently spent the whole of November on my first school placement. It was nice to put my ideas into practice, and experience teaching on a full time basis. I break up on the 16th, and will be returning to Bristol for Xmas and the New Year - It will just be nice to relax for a couple of weeks and recharge my batteries!
Early next year, I return to France yet again - I just can't keep away!! This time, I'll be spending a month in Rennes, teaching all the subjects in French! I leave on the 20th January which isn't that far away!!0 Comments 397 weeks

Breaking news!!
Following my recent interview at Marjons, I received a letter the other day accepting me onto the PGCE Primary with French course starting in September! I have since accepted this offer, which means that I will be back in Plymouth again for another year! I'm feeling slightly relieved more than anything, as I was getting quite anxious, and was considering deferring a year and reapplying later.
I have also received some news as to why UWE, Bristol didn't accept me onto their course - According to them, 'my interview performance wasn't as strong as other candidates, and my score in the numeracy test was ONLY 33/46', when the acceptable pass rate was 35/46!! Never mind, eh! I've got a good mind to write them a sarcastic letter informing them of my acceptance at Marjons!
In the meantime, I'm still slaving away at Makro working a 40 hour week! However, I'm returning to France next week for a few days break and will be at Wimbledon on Court One on the 22nd June! I cannot wait! C'mon Tim!!0 Comments 423 weeks
