- Hello........................ ...
- Me, Myself, and I
- I'm Kareem, i was born in Scotland tho i was brought up in Kuwait and lived there for 12 years before moving back over to this country. I went to St Andrews Academy mid 2nd year and stayed there till end of 5th. Went to Stow college to do CAD then had a short spell at Paisley Uni. Now work full time in John Lewis in Glasgow and have been there for 6 years!
So about my beliefs -
I am a Christian and believe that i have been saved not by my own strength. i believe that i cannot get to heaven by my own good deeds but by the grace of God.
My life outside of work is pretty much taken up doing Christian youth work.
So why do i do what i do... why should i do all this for a God that i cannot see and get slatted for believing in? Why bother with people who dont seem to care and dont seem to understand?
"Perseverance is a great element of success. If you only knock long enough and loud enough at the gate, you are sure to wake up somebody.”

MY TESTIMONY : I have been a Christian for about 5 years now. Before I was a Christian I wouldnt say I lived a bad life. I was brought up in a good home abroad in Kuwait, where I lived with my mum and dad. I always believed there was a god but just didnt understand who? Or where to even start looking! I had no idea. When I was 13 I moved over to Scotland with my mum and shortly after moving over I started playing sports over the field at my house with these church people that I met. I knew they were involved in the local Baptist church but that wasnt for me, I wasnt interested. I started getting on better and better with these boys and their dad (the pastor). They were different to any other friends I had met. They were just happy people they had something I didnt have and I wanted what they had. One week they managed to convince me to go along to their church service on a Sunday morning (they promised there was going to be basketball after the service in the hall so I had nothing to loose. Why not I said! I went every week for about half a year and I head the message every week and knew there was something I was missing out on in life. One week in particular the service was basically about where are you going>? Barry the pastor spoke about people who knew there was a God but just didnt give their hearts over to him. THT WAS ME! I felt they were having a dig at me for not being life them a bit. But that was just Satan moving around in my life. Later that night I went and spoke with the pastor (my friend by now) and we spoke all night about God stuff. He told me everything I needed to know a. he ended with the words you know what you have to do Kareem! That really got to me as I knew it too. That night when I went home I gave my life over to God. Have I ever regretted it? NO CHANCE! My life was turned upside down after that night; I met so many new friends and had a lot more challenges to face. Im still meeting new people and facing more challenges now and will continue to in the future but thats the great thing about being a Christian. God has a plan for you and your life and if you fully rely on him he will help you to live out the best life you possibly could. About 2 years later I joined a Discipleship School, where I learned how to lead clubs and camps and how to teach and biblically equip young people. I have been run a few different clubs since then. Extra mile Youth in Glasgow was my biggest youth club so far running upto 35 teenagers. that club came to a close last year after being around for close to 5 years. That club meant so much to me. Not a day has gone past when i dont think about that club and pray for the kids who went there. Im now involved alot more in my own church, Glenburn baptist church, running the youth department there. the church is great and im sure will create stars who will shine for the cause of Jesus Christ! I'd like to thank everyone who stood by me and helped me through my tough times. Thanks to Rev Barry Williams and his family for their support and thanks to David Renton and his family also for putting up with my and helping me through the discipleship training program.

Ur in a shoe shop, 2nd in the queue at the till. Behind the till is a pair of shoes which you have seen and jst gotta hav. *
~ The women in front of you has also spotted them. Both of you have forgotten your purses. ~
~ It would be rude to push in front of the 1st woman if you had no money to pay for the shoes. ~
~ The shop assistant remains at the till waiting. ~
~ Your friend is trying on another pair of shoes at the back of the shop and sees your dilemma. ~
~ She prepares to throw her purse to you. ~
~ If she does so, you can catch the purse, then walk round the other shopper and buy the shoes! ~
~ At a pinch she could throw the purse ahead of the other shopper and "whilst it is in flight" you could nip around the other shopper, catch the purse and buy the shoes! ~
~ BUT, you must always remember that until the purse has "actually been thrown", it would be plain wrong for you to be in front of the other shopper and you would therefore be considered OFFSIDE ~
