      One night a man had a dream. He dreamed
      he was walking along the beach with Jesus.

      Across the sky flashed scenes from his life.
      For each scene he noticed two sets of
      footprints in the sand: one belonging
      to him, and the other to Jesus.

      When the last scene of his life flashed before him,
      he looked back at the footprints in the sand.

      This really bothered him and he
      questioned God about it:

      "Father, you said that once I decided to follow
      you, you'd walk with me all the way.
      But I have noticed that during the most
      troublesome times in my life,
      there is only one set of footprints.
      I don't understand why when
      I needed you most you would leave me."

      This was the reply:

      "My son, my precious child,
      I love you and I would never leave you.
      During your times of trial and suffering,
      when you see only one set of footprints,
      it was then that Jesus carried you."

    • Last day in Tanzania!

      Well i have had the most amazing time in Tanzania and now i leave for the airport in less that 5 hrs!! I would happily stay here for so much longer....i am going to miss the children for the orphanage so much, was heartbreaking leaving them the other day! Really excited about seeing everyone from home again though cause i have missed you guys.

      Discovered a neonatal ward the other day in one of the hospitals and it was like walking into paradise for me. Lots of premature babies to cuddle and look after, there was 7 babies in one cot they were so small!! Some of the babies there were really sick as well which is really sad, i quickly became attached to a little one whose mum had dies during childbirth and the dad wasnt interested. Due to jaundice the baby had brain damage and he just looked so ill. But i abselutly loved him and leaving knowing that he didn't have anyone to look after him was one of the worst things i have done whilst here! Just wish i could take him home with me, i would if there wasn't so many rules on adopting!!

    • the incident in the snake park....

      i know that you all must be intrigued by the title of this blog so i will tell you the story now......

      A couple of days ago we went to a snake park. All was going well- i had ridden a camel (which i am not a natural at), i had successfully held a baby croc without having my fingers bitten off, i felt invinsible.....lol! But then came the snake! I thought that it would be a great camera video opportunity to film me holding a snake around my shoulders, little did i know that the snake was a constricting one! Well all was good at first and i was like 'ooo....look at me with my snake' and then it started to move and my grip around the snake tightened....then incidently the snakes grip around my neck tightened! To make matters worse and cause me to panic more people then started to notice and started yelling, 'the snakes constricting, someone get it off her neck,'! Moral of the story is- love the snake and it will love you back, squeeze a snake and it will squeeze you back!!!

      Apart from my near death experience i have been living the past couple of days pretty safely, enjoying the sun and relaxing pace of life in Africa! Home soon though, cant believe how fast it has all gone! Still debating whether i can justify spending a significant amount of money on skydiving at kilimanjaro....if i do it will be on saturday so wish me luck...
