The Devon & Cornwall Octopus Appreciation Society
Post a Comment
The Devon & Cornwall Octopus Appreciation Society was formed on Wednesday 2nd May 2007 by Anthony Pand and Richard Kantharia.
The aim of the society is to ensure that octopuses in the region are fully appreciated and to campaign on their behalf for equal rights in the areas of housing, transport and swimming.
The society maintains an unselfish commitment to improving the treatment of octopuses in the counties of Devon and Cornwall, and its members work together with the local octopus community to guarantee a better future for them, as well as promoting greater harmony between the octopus and human races.
To ensure the success of its mission, the society places great importance in the virtues of politeness, honesty, punctuality and juggling. The society’s three mottos are also central to all of our work: firstly, “the octopus is always right”; secondly, “wubblawibblewhoowiwowibblobowoo”; and thirdly, “no Oriental Asians, or those who eat octopuses.”
All of our members also respect traditional values – we avoid shouting in public places, we never hurt people who don’t deserve it, we don’t touch what we can’t afford and we don’t visit synagogues. We also talk nicely when using the telephone.
We believe that by appreciating octopuses today, we are increasing our chances of survival as a human race in the future when octopuses inevitably take over the world.
