- This is the official band page for the Bournemouth-Based Youth Rock Band, AutoPilot.
Greg Davies (Vox, Bass Guitar) and Alan Rosling (Guitar) used to play in a band named Control. They left and hired a new drummer, Niko Battistini. Our first gig was at the end of Year 8 assembly, and in fact was our first ever time together as a band! Since then, the band have been through hell and high water together and have emerged as an accomplished group, playing in venues as large as the BIC!!!
All members of the band are only 15 years old!!!
We love ALL of our loyal fans and supporters

The Whole Story!
Greg Davies started up the band with Alan Rosling and Dan Bolter towards the start of Year 8 during an Iford open evening. Greg and Dan had practiced once before with Joe Dow playing guitar and had enjoyed it, so thought it a good idea to play with Alan for the evening, since Joe was not available. Throughout the night, the small band played rock songs in the St. Peters Iford practice room, and loved every bit of it. The band were joined by Hannah Nicol, Josh Barker, and Gian Luc Angiolini who played alongside the three for the evening. The songs were a repetition of Iron Man, Tequila, Stacey's Mom and Eye Of The Tiger. Since everyone had so much fun that night, the four-man band Control gathered for the first time. This is where it all started.
So, Control (Aka RE:EF) consisted of Alan R (Guitar, Lead Vocals), Greg D (Bass), Dan B (Drums) and Gian-Luc A (Keyboards). The band usually gathered once a fortnight at Dan's house. Around this time, Alan and Greg made their first song together - I'm Evil. This arrangement held for about 5-6 months, and they all had a fab time during that period, until GL left the band, leaving just the three of them. The band continued consistently for another few months - this is where it gets strange. Unfortunately, at around June last year, complications arose to where band practice would be held, leading to a clash of ideas and personalities. Dan was also not available for the long awaited end of year gig - so Greg and Alan asked Niko Battistini (who they didn't know too well at the time) to fill in for him just this once. The band played really well and enjoyed the performance throughout. Later on that day, it was revealed that Dan was to be in the X half of the year, while Greg, Alan, And Niko were all in the Y half. This made Dan so much harder to play and arrange practices with so, also realising that Niko was much easier to get to- living in Winton, (problems had risen over this matter before), they decided to hire Niko as a new drummer. It has to be said though - Dan Bolter was a kickass drummer - he could start another band any day...
So there they were, it was the beginning of Year 9, and their new band, AutoPilot had their first practice at Greg's house. Niko's skills showed through - even using his terrible Berkeley drum kit, and they decided by the end that they'd made the right decision. Niko wrote some lyrics for I'm Evil, and they proved to be very good, so for some time Niko wrote the majority of the words to the band's songs. Alan came up with a nice chord progression or riff, Greg put a funky bass line over it, and Niko found a cool beat to back it - that's how the band worked. They were currently playing I'm Evil, Strutter - from their old days, and Pinball Wizard by The Who - one of two songs that they peformed at the end of Year 8, the other being Paint It Black by The Rolling Stones. They also played another of their own called "Aimed At The Throat" that went steadily downhill - eventually getting ditched.
The band then had a practice at Alan's flat, during a sleepover with all three members. This is where Alan showed the band a few chords that went really well together - these became The Creature. Niko wrote some lyrics and, using Alan's digital drum kit, put together the song. This was also the turning point where Greg became the lead singer of the band, as opposed to singing backing vocals. Greg and Alan switched roles. There were a few recently deleted videos from this sleepover, where you can see Al's bed in the background. This is also where the band named themselves Jaxon Blade.
After the sleepover, band rehearsals continued at Greg's house for quite a while. Our For More was born and The Creature faded away into the bank of forgotten songs. New songs were learnt, and some others ditched. Deleted videos of the band playing in front of an orange wall were all filmed in Greg's music room.
