- I'm studying to be a teacher so I travel the world and visit all the friends that I met on my Europe contiki tour in 2003, and Australia Outback tour in 2006 - as well as have a job.

- Faker, The Strokes, Musical Soundtracks (Les Mis, Phantom of the Opera), basically rock in general, Bon Jovi (the old stuff), retro shit I can dance to, and wait for it ... Westlife (haha!).
- Films
- There are too many - all!! I particularly love chick flicks like While you were Sleeping and Dirty Dancing, Big fan of Last Holiday, but I am a film buff and would give any film a go.

- NRL - Wests Tigers

- Lightning and thunder, and anything supernatural (Ghosts, Witches, Aliens)

- talking to people, or reading a good book.

- Greys Anatomoy, Gilmore Girls, Heroes, Biggest Loser (minus the fleshing out of emotional turmoil of contestants - just show us the results already!)

Today was AWESOME! I think it had something to do with the teacher that I was taking over explaining everything that needed to be done, and the students understanding reasoning - not to mention God answering my prayers! This day is exactly what I needed in my casual teaching career. Yes there were a few difficulties ... but nothing like the mentals of the last class (me having the mentals). This class responded really well to positive reinforcement, and most were intrinsically motivated - I didn't have to bribe any of them into doing the work. I think Year 6 may be my grade to teach.

Year 4
Well ... what can I say. The older they get, the more they try and get away with. I got heaps of talk back from 4 of the boys in the class - "that's it, you're going next door with Mrs scary woman" ... "make me!" ... little muther fkrs! I also had a child refuse to do what I wanted (get off the computer) so I disconnected it, and he ran out of the classroom screaming at the top of his lungs! There must be something wrong in the brain with him, but how embarressing! I have to read up on classroom management cos I was fucked. I also need to find out what motivates them cos stickers so don't!! It still wasn't a bad day, but still ... I wanna come home feeling like I had control of the situations.

My first two days as a teacher EVER!

I taught my first class today.
Oh My Goooooooooooooood-ness!
It was year 1, and only a half-day, but they sussed me out like a dog to dog-ass. They were nice kids, but I felt like I didn't have much support from the teacher that I took over from - I reckon I was just packing it and saw things that weren't there. Before I escaped, they asked me back to teach a full day of Kindy tomorrow (just shoot me now). I cheerily said yes.

Kindergarten - OH MY GOOOOOOOOOOD-ness!
It was INSANE!! My favourite (read - shittest) bit was when I was trying to do a literacy group (reading gp w 5 kids while others are working quietly on other reading activities), and the puzzle group was running in circles around the room throwing puzzle pieces at each other . Or it could have been the time that I was to bring them to a religion walk on the journey of Jesus at Easter, and I was pushed back 45 min while another class finished it, and I had 30 kids in the playground (alone w them) playing chasings, screaming at the top of their tiny lungs, and the principal coming out to see which idiot teacher was allowing this.
But surprisingly, I loved this day better than yesterday. The teacher had everything out for me, I had HEAPS of support from the other Kindy teacher, and all the other teachers were concerned for me and looking out for me.
I just need to be more prepared. I have on order from Ness's contact $200 worth of relief teacher activity books - so I'm locked and loaded for the next one!
Can't wait (or maybe I can for a bit).
