Pan - "Well I totally missed the convoy up from Swansea (again!), and I had to travel straight to the main event.
Found Tesco already heaving with mota's, and plenty of burnout action and tricks going on, with a Fiesta Turb and an MG Montego rallying around the edge of the carpark sending spectators and Cars running for cover :-)
Got a first look at Flub's new Revs featured 205 and was well impressed with the sound of the Twin Webbers (mmmm, Webbers!) Feature with pics soon!
A few cars had started blipping up and down the road next to the carpark, so quite a crowd was gathering, and before long there were nearly 30 racers tearing up and down with a few near misses along the way. The law turned up and were eager to have a go and showed what they could do by reversing around the roundabout at top speed ;-) b4 J-Turning their mini meat wagon around and burning out!"
XR4x4i - "Well chuffed with this local cruise!...Firstly, a big thumbs up to the organisers, nice job...Also big thumbs up to the Newport City and County Borough Council guys for cleaning up after us this morning ;-) The only major downside of the night was getting stuck in the traffic jam on the motorway. Got into Cleppa to find it filled with cars, from that point on it had the makings of top cruise.
Got to final location, wondering how the local police were going to handle their first cruise, only to find....NO POLICE...Excellent!
Nice to see the local idiots turned up, especially the L Plated Montego, you'll never pass your test driving like that!!!
As for the street racing - I had mixed opinions on that one. Not exactly for it, but I suppose it did provide a bit of entertainment. A bit out of hand for my liking at some points. All in all a top night, bring on Newport 2 i say....."
UglyDub - "Some wicked examples of modded steel - 'scort on OZ Titans was game, the Merc ICE van was crazy, and there was even a metro with a flushed tailgate!!??!!....Stunt area was mad, with the turbo'd fezza trying damn hard to scrape his ass on tesco's wall, a spinning pug on bread trays and a guy in the 5 series bimma who failed spectacularly to do a burnout, despite trying hard! (turn the TCS off next time, mate!)
Street racing was a bit lairy, specially with the guy in the laguna locking up on approach to the roundabout, but the bab seemed content to let it be, and nobody got hurt, so we'll let it go, right? sweet...."
Benji - "Top night...Team Heddlu were awsome, even the guys in the T5! We saw you hiding under that lampost...nice cars great atmosphere pitty bout the street racing starting...thats one thing I am against, but it was funny to watch the local yokals on push bikes having a game of chicken with a R5 GTT...funny as hell and Pan almost coped it too!
...and as for the guy with the Mk4 Escort cab pity bout the car at least its only an illusion front bumper...common as muck try somthing diff this time and dont race it, the arse in the blue Pug 106 that car was sweet why was he racing it"
Stoney - "I really enjoyed the cruise!...Best 1 ever maybe!...Police were sh*t hot too. We need these to come to a Swansea cruise, and although the racing was a bit daft, I couldn't help but enjoy it! I was cheering for the red Cav SRi who was kicking ass against the R5 GTT!!!!!
Mort - "At the end of the day they let us get on with it and took a backseat, more police forces need to take this attitude. Nothing was burned out or destroyed, nobody was injured or killed."
Car of the Event:
Moment of the Event: Although loads of ppl did'nt like what was going on, there were still loads gathered to watch the circuit racing, and probably this is gonna be the moment of the night for everyone...no one could resist watching, could they? ;-)
