1st half of June 2007 we mostly took it Real Easy! ...
We went to the driving Range to hit some balls
Alex & Andrew went on the slip & slide with Adrian & Kadence & Shawn went out shooting with a bunch of friends.
11- We went out to Maple Lake with Annie, Aron, & Peter (& of course the kiddos) we did some fishing on Aron's dads fishing boat & swam...
& then the vacation started!!!...

12- We left for South Dakota at 6am ...Great Plains ZOO in Souix Falls
--- Corn Palace in Mitchell, camped in the Badlands/White River KOA
13- scaled the Badlands a bit
--- Wall Drug in Wall, SD Was SO fun. Adrian was shaking from the T-Rex roar!
-- stopped at the Base for liquor & food for the kabin
--- got our KOA Kabin all set up in Rapid City
--- Bear Country USA was so cool, wish we could have gone there a few times
--- The Maze got us totally turned around. Shawn didn't finish & I had to get a "tip" from one of the employees a couple times before I made it out-all proud cause I thought I beat Shawn outta there-but when I walked through the door Shawn looked like he beat me to the finish- I was kinda disappointed for a min.
14- Reptile Gardens...the falcon was awesome & the eagle! the Crocs rocked !
--- Presidents Slide twice ...skinned up my leg on some loose rocks
--- Mt. Rushmore
--- Cosmos-Shawn wouldn't tell a lie! LOL I was Superman!
--- Dinosaur Park
15- Story Book Island...the best place to take your kids!!!!
--- Thunder Head Falls(underground) our 1st of 3 waterfalls on the trip.
--- Crazy Horse Memorial...to be finished in 100 or more, when Mt. Rushmore took only about 20 years grrrrrrrrrrrrr I would love to see it finished!
--- We didn't quite make it in time for the Flinstones Theme Park but we still ate some DQ for supper outside the grounds &
--- We played Miniture Golf instead of the Flinstones Theme Park
--- we went back to the Crazy Horse Memorial for the "Legends in Light" lazor light show at 9:45pm
--- we tried to see Mt Rushmore lit up at night driving back to the campsite, we spotted a side view of Washington's lit up face REALLY close about 2 seconds before they turned off the lights at 10:40pm SOOO cool!
16- We went to see the Sitting Bull Crystal Caverns, but once we got there we weren't able to go because Kadence wasn't old enough. It was too steep & strenuous of a walk for anyone under 3 (mandatory) & you are not allowed to carry anyone for any amount of the walk either.
--- We then got some ice cream and fudge & got on the 1880 Train (steam train!) ride from Keystone to Hill City & back...were we saw Harney's Peak
--- We were tying to go to another cave after that but took a wrong turn & landed the scenic route through the Black Hills National Forest. At the end of which, Donkeys came right up to the van & Shawn fed them part of a cereal bar (yes we mostly lived off cereal bars the whole trip)
--- We made it to Beautiful Mt Rushmore Cave...poor Shawn carried Kadence the whole walk up & down! at least he has bigger muscles for it!
--- We hit a nice buffet in Keystone & a factory outlet store & as we headed back to the Kabin we thought we'd try to see Mt Rushmore lit up at night again, it started raining though & we didn't get to see the whole monument lit up again
--- on the way back I pointed out my Favorite road sign to Shawn!! unfortunately he has Bad night vision, especially with the rain & When I yelled "Oh my God!" He freaked out! haha well...the sign said " watch out for high cross winds" so I said that but it was not as funny as I thought it would be at That moment
17- We checked out of the Rapid City Koa kabin & saw Chapel in the Hills, a Norweign replica Adrian spotted a dear really close to us there!
--- We stopped at Roughlock Falls for a short walk... I love waterfalls!
--- Nature Called, & landed us at the Presidents Park ;P pretty cool & informative! Kadence tried to take her pants down & pee out in Nature like a boy! toooooo funn
