I'm Jamar, Freedom's daddy!
I have no other attributes than being the father of a famous daughter. Her mother and I live to make her life comfortable, to make sure she's happy and dancing at all times, and cleaning up her little messes.
She's the best thing that has ever happened to me (besides my salvation, of course...oh, and my wife, she's peeping over my shoulder right now) and I'd be lost without my little bundle of joy. Make sure you check out my blogs...I fancy myself a Max Lucado.

- How well do you know Jamar? 7 Taken
I've scraped the bottom,
leveled out with the broken broomsticks
and burnt-out wicks
the dull, lifeless color of defeat
left on the scales of my skin.
I've written my epitath
on the walls of this hollow grave
I think I'd rather run than face redemption.
I think I'd rather drown than face conception.
I think it's cozy in the
confines of failure.
Just as I use the flesh of minnows
I hear the sweet rumble of second chances
It's the sound of forgiveness.
It's the sound of purpose.
It's the sound of my captor wretching and spilling
my broken form onto
the sands of Ninevah.

I marvel at the faithfulness of God.
Through our daily musings, our pain, our oftentime unfaithfulness, He still allows the sun to rise each dawn, and with that rising the promise of a new day, a new horizon, new matchless mercies.
Sometimes we are like Gomer, who was a harlot that God instructed Hosea to marry. God used this union to illustrate His love and compassion for us even when we don't allow Him to be first in our lives. Sure, we say He's first with our mouths, but our actions say something altogether different.
But even while we're out committing adultry, putting people and work before our God, He's made a promise to never leave or forsake us. "And it shall be, in that day," says the LORD, "that you will call Me 'My Husband'..."
Yeah, God wants to be our husbandman. For us too, fellas. It's not about demasculating ourselves, but becoming vulnerable to Him. Because it's through our vulnerablity He is made God and we are made righteous. While we are on the throne, it is impossible for Him to be as well.
And for the ladies, it's giving Him permission to love you completely. Or in the words of that old Savage Garden song ..."truly, madly, deeply." It's His desire to know you in the most intimate way imagineable...your fears, your desires, your needs that no earthly man has the power to meet. By making Him the Husband of your affairs, you are surrendering all, and remember His Word says to seek first His Kingdom. Everything falls into place after that.
"I will betroth you to Me forever; Yes, I will betroth you to Me in righteousness and justice, in lovingkindness and mercy. I will betroth you to Me in faithfulness. And you shall know the LORD." Hosea 2:19-20
What an amazing promise. He is, in essence, making His wedding vows to us and we all know how He views marriage. It's forever, it's sealed in blood, it's unwavering.
Look now, He's on one knee, He's asking to be The One...not the second or the third. He's promising new days and new hearts, love everlasting and love eternal. He's saying "look, I know sometimes you can be a Gomer, but allow Me to love you anyways."
All He's asking for is a yes.
