- Me, Myself, and I
- At this stage, we all know that one of our most sacred sites, the Hill of Tara / Skreen Valley, is smack in the middle of the proposed route for the new tolled motorway. There will be a 32 acre interchange not 1000 meters from the foot of a place that has been the heart of our island for the last 4000yrs!
This page has been set up to be a notice board of what’s going on to stop this and how you can help. We’re just here let you know what we know!
We are not anti-M3. What we are opposed to is the proposed route of the M3. So, what can you do to Save Tara? LOADS!
Join a Save Tara organisation, stay for a night or two with The Peoples Solidarity Vigil who are camped out on the Hill, annoy the crap out of newspaper and politicians with letters, sign the petition, support protest marches or start you own, fund-raise in your school/college/work place, spread the word- keep Tara a hot topic!
Let Bertie know, you’ll not allow him to sell YOUR heritage for profit!
- Have a look around – show your support.
- MAKE SURE YOU CHECK OUT OUR BLOG AND BLOG HISTORY FOR DETAILS ON EVERYTHING WE MENTIONED HERE AND SOME OTHER CRAP WE THOUGHT WE'D THROW IN!
- You organise, we’ll advertise
- Drop us a line if you have any ideas for fund-raisers or awareness-raisers.

Statement from the Tara Vigil
29-01-07
Muintir na h-Eireann,
After rumour that the public-private contract has been signed last Friday, construction started throughout the Tara Valley this morning. The newly discovered souterrain is in immediate danger of being destroyed as they had started building a compound just behind it. Large earth-moving machines have already moved it. Gravel has been moved into Lismullen and the archeological site near Rath Lugh has been filled back in ready for construction. This is an urgent call for help and resources. Please pass this message on. For more details contact 086 1758557

Oral Hearing
Sorry for the lack of updates, I've been up and back to the Hill so things have been a bit manic. In regards to the last post, everything has been verified. Yesterday's Irish Indo also, did a piece on the 1,500 year old Souterrian in Roestown that will very shortly be paved over.
Anyway, back to the point, tomorrow is the final public oral hearing to decide wheither or not its right to spend public money on the double tolled motorway.(Dispite the fact none of this was finalised, or legal yet, prep. work has already begun...so much for the public getting their say!) If they get the green light, and the PPP (public private partnership) form is signed, it's gonna throw an almightly spanner in the works for those trying to save the Tara Valley. From what I've been told, once contracts are signed with these construction companies, you have to pay big money to get back outta them again. I'll be heading up for the hearing tomorrow, feel free to come if you can (10am the Ardboyne Hotel, Navan). I'll be going back to the Hill for another few days after that, so I wouldn't be able to update you straight away on what happened, but keep your eyes on the media and post on the whiteboard if you see anything and keep each other informed.
Lastly, Hello to all the newbies that I haven't gotten around to messaging yet! Thanks for you support and Welcome aboard!

Update from the Front Line, Lismullin 9:04pm 09.01.07
Well, I just got off the phone with the Vigil guys, and the shi*t has really hit the fan. Camp Two in Lismullin, has been attacked and all but distroyed but the workers, clearing the way for the M3.
While the protesters were holding the line today, trying to block the illegal and unsafe tree-felling, one protester was knocked to the ground, by a worker and is currently in hospital have his back x-rayed. Soon after, when the protesters had left the wood, there was a horrible accident, where a tree came down on one of the M3 workers, their Health and Saftly Officer, just to be ironic. From what I heard the poor man was quiet badly injured. The Guards were called, the area cordoned off, and a full investigation is under way. We wish both men well, and hope the government sees how f-ing stupid they're being and stops before there is more damage caused to people or landscape.
Support is need NOW, get yourselves down to the camp, if at all possible.
Just so you know, I am telling you all this 2nd hand, I haven't seen any of this myself but am heading up again tomorrow, and will confirm when I get back.0 Comments 341 weeks

Fiach Dubh6/16/08Frustrating all around...Why are these people in control of our land? Local government, planning, roads, dail eireannn(the present ones do not deserve capital lettering!)puppets-all working for the bigger boys the Euro Elite, who own shares in all the major euro companies, trade, control the econonics,-these boys who have been sitting in Brussels, conjouring up an Orwellian state,do not give a dam about our heritage. Infact its in their best interest to distroy it...please check out the psychic children website for a detailed view on the importance of maintaining these sacred sites. To the people on the ground...See you soon. Love to you all. Fiach.

Eoin Horan10/23/07Yo,just been doing a bit of reading thought i'd let yis know about. "The NRA’s favoured Blue Corridor was far enough away from Tara (1.3km at the closest point) to have no archeological impact, while best serving traffic demands, knitting existing roads together, crossing the Boyne efficiently and having the least impact on properties and communities." "Last year the NRA dug a test trench along the central line of the 59km route, with cross trenches every 20 metres. This herring-bone lattice turned up 38 archeological sites along the 15km Blue Corridor, an average of 2.5 per km, about the same as most roads, the NRA argues, and far fewer than on some national road schemes" http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/new... (taken 23/10/2007) Just i've been looking at your page a fair bit and been finding it very mis-leading.Just tought i might share with you some facts cos we all want the truth heard here right. Thanks Eoin

Sean Tresson9/27/07can't believe some of the comments on this page.everybody has a right to their own opinion but come on.at least let it be an educated one.whats worse is that its from irish people who don't know the importance of not just tara but the whole valley.historically, spiritually and even the importance it could play in the future of this country.think of the benefits of tourism folks.jobs etc.we should open this up like the velley of the kings and the pyramids in egypt and let the world see our splendid heritage instead of just tarmac.have any of these people looked at the routes and proposed routes? this current choice goes out of its way to rip through the valley. im no hippie,no tree hugger as i've heard people being called.i was happy to see road improvements as i live in wexford and work in dublin but for christ sake this is different.get off your arses, get to the hill, read a book and you'll see.this government are currupt and ignorant to our rights, our opinion, our heritage, our future

Sunday was great the photo looks so good, I just love Tara, such a beautiful place, it would be so sad to lose the peace by the sound and sight of a motorway.
