Blood stains on his shirt from yet another fight,
He thanks god for getting through one more night,
Kneeling he began to share his sorrow,
"You helped me through today.. please help me through tomorrow,"
The hair on his head is completely shaved,
And his skins' of a darker shade,
With a tattoed teardrop for the days he cried,
For the homeboys who on the streets have died,
Bowing his head he continued to pray,
"Dear god make tomorrow a better day,
Forgive me for all the bad things I do,
and forgive my homeboys for what they do too,"
He was a son who by his father was denied,
With a mother who always pushed him aside,
The emotional scars made too deep to heal,
In a life where nightmares couldnt be more real,
"Be with my homeboys... each one like a brother,
they show me more love than my mother or father,
God give me the courage and make me stronger,
I cant deal with these issues alone any longer,
I hope with everything this prayer you'll hear,"
As he said, "Amen," down his cheek ran a tear,
Later that night it began to rain,
As god recieved his prayer and cried for his pain.
