This feels a little weird, writing to the bebo blog about what's racing around in my head right now. What seems to make this seem a little easier is the idea that perhaps my friends will be eventually read this, comment this, and from this i can gauge that this random blog was enlightening and sentimental....or a crock of shit Either way I look forward to it.

So where do I start? The beginning? Handy suggestion that, must give that advice to someone one day. I'll start with school. It's done, it's over, and to add some random German, it's kaput! I'm so happy that it's over and I'm excited that at last I can move one with my life. But this is where the sentimentalilty, if indeed that is a word, comes into it. I haven't quite begun to miss school, which is brilliant, i don't particularly relish the idea of missing that place yet . The sentimental thoughts come into it when i think that, "Hey, I'm not a kid anymore. I have to work, I have to look after myself and eventually, I'm going to have to move out into the real world and make a life for myself." This is something that excites me to no end! But there's also the fears, and there's the fact that, especially with my intended career path, I may never see a lot of my friends for a long period of time.

I have a job now, not much, but it's something. The people are nice and the pay's pretty good. After my first day, Dad called me and asked how it was and all that stuff. Something he said in that conversation really got me thinking. What he said was along the lines of "This is it, for the rest of your life." He was refering to work and how it would impact on my life. Smack! The sentimental rushed into my head...great . I knew from then that I am going to miss things like school, like the times i had spent with my friends during school.

I can't end this blog without some kind of mention to the organisation that has been a huge part of my life for nearly 6 years, The Australian Army Cadets. The AAC has taken up 1/3 of my life, and it's been perhaps the best 1/3. Over the past 6 years I've done courses, I've been on camps on several properties, and forests/national parks...In conditions summery, wintery, in snow, rain, thunderstorms, 40 degree heat and loved almost every minute of it. I've had the opportunity to lead people in unit and field conditions, beginning as a recruit Corporal in command of 8 recruits in 2005 to a Battalion Commander in command of 280+ cadets in 2008. Perhaps the most important thing to me is the people that I've met. I've met people from many units all over NSW and even into Victoria. I have met people from the Air Force Cadets and Navy Cadets and try to remain in contact with as many as possible. A special mention has to go out to all of my good friends that I've made over the years, many I consider good and best friends. I can attend conferences that put me int a semi-coma, but its these people that pull me out of it and help me have the best time! I want to keep in contact with these people, they know who they are, for the rest of my life...as I do with all of my school friends as well. I almost wish i could put a list of all my friends and a few things about them, but i realised that I would be here for hours giving a mention to everyone....plus, knowing me i'd miss someone and then i'd really be in the shit
