close About Me
- Me, Myself, and I
- I was born in Middlesboro, Ky, in 1941. A war baby. By the time the second war started, I was 5 months old, and was 4 years old when it ended.
I remember my Uncle Horace coming home and buying me my first baby doll with a carriage I might add.
I have four brothers, one of which is dead. I will never forget him. He was the oldest. His name was Kenneth Robert Walker. He was 28 when he passed. He was born with a damaged brain. But, Kenny, with his mind of an eight year old, he loved trains, music, and animals. He was special.
My mother and father are of Irish and English descent. Seems there were royals in our family. But that was a long time ago. The 1700's I believe.
As for me, I love music, gardening, and life. I am a cancer survivor. I have had breast cancer. I will never forget that experience, as it opened me up to all kinds of understandings about myself, which I never knew existed.
I currently live in Austin, Texas. I have two sons, eight grandchildren, four gre - Music

ice storm
Today is January 15. It is sleeting, raining, snowing, all in one sentence. I live in Manor, Texas. The state of sunshine, drought, wind, rain, snow, sleet, ice. You name it. I went to work today, immediately came back home because of the ice and sleet. I was afraid I would not be able to get home later in the day.
It is suppose to get worse by Tuesday. I surely hope not. Just think of all the homeless. I am sure they are worried as I am.
I hope it gets better.0 Comments 340 weeks

vacation
Right now, it is August 6, 2006. Who would think I made it pass my 65th birthday. Well, I did, and thankful for that. I just flew to Cincinnati, to see my special grand niece. One year old, August 4th. Had to be there for that, plus, see the rest of my family in Cincinnati.
Am planning a trip to Temperance. Sounds like something out of a 1930's era of prohibition. Well, my son Christopher lives there, and my youngest I might add. He has given me four grand babies, three great grandchildren. Can't wait to see all of them again.
All for this time. Will write more later.0 Comments 363 weeks

Hurricane Katrina, and Hurricane Rita on the way!!
It has been a while since I wrote in my biog, but with one major hurricane over, another is on the way. Hurricane Rita; which I might add, will be coming to shore late Friday night or Saturday morning. I might say that this one is as fierce as Katrina, if not more. Hopefully all the residents along that paticular coast line from Corpus Christi to Beaumont will evacuate in time. I know that we, as Austinites, gave refuse to the first victums of Katrina, and now, all of Texas along the gulf coast is headed toward Austin.
I will try to right more later and update everyone of the consequences of Rita. Bye for now.0 Comments 408 weeks
