GOF nominated for Bafta Awards

The fourth Potter film has received two nominations, Best Feature Film and Bafta Kids' Vote, in this year's children's Bafta Awards. The awards ceremony will take place on November 26th in London.

JKR-donated book on eBay
Jo Rowling recently donated a new, autographed copy of Half-Blood Prince to the Helen Ritson Trust Fund, a charity that benefits underprivileged children. The bid is now over sold for a staggering 1.600.00!!!!

Rupert Grint interview
During the interview Rupert talked about his new film driving lessons. He said it was quite hard work as they did about four scenes a week whilst in Harry Potter they did about one major scene a week. It was quite different for him as there were no blue screens, studio's dressing rooms and they did most of the scenes around London. He sid he really enjoyed working with Julie Walters as she wasn't in GOF. He touched on roumours of Chris Coulumbous/ Alfonso Cuaron directing HBP. He mentioned Christmas scene with Weasleys, which he enjoyed. He also said they had about a month left of filming.

DO YOU WANT TO BE AN ACTRESS FOR THE REST OF YOU'RE CAREER?
I really don’t know. Daniel and Rupert seem so sure. I don’t know. I wouldn’t want “Harry Potter” to be the last thing I do. Nothing is ever going to be quite on the scale of this. I appreciate that. And also I’ve come into acting in such a funny way. Most people who want to act have to sit through hours of auditioning and work their way up, whereas I seemed to have come straight in at the top, having had no experience at all. That’s quite a strange position to be in, but amazing at the same time because it has given me so many options and choices. I definitely would like to try other films to see what it’s like. I’d really like to try some theater, actually, because I think I would really enjoy that immediate response from an audience. I love making people laugh. I love to perform, but there are so many things I love doing. [Pauses.] Maybe that seems ungrateful. I have been given such an amazing opportunity, but I’ll just have to go with the flow and see what happens.

DO DAN AND RUPERT SEEM LIKE BROTHERS TO YOU?
Kind of, yeah. It's funny. It's been an intense and very long friendship. We've known each other for six years now, and have seen each other almost every day. I mean, they've seen me in every single state. They have seen me at my most glamorous and they have seen me at six in the morning with no makeup on. They do feel like my brothers. And we've been through all the ups and downs of this mad experience together. Yeah, it's nice.

On Friday we reported that the Daily Mirror spoke to JK Rowling at a tea party in Edinburgh, celebrating the release of Driving Lessons. Regarding the progress of Book 7, the UK tabloid quoted Jo as saying, "I'm up to about 750 pages now." At the time, we told you it was highly unlikely JK would give away how many pages she's written. Now we have confirmation in the form of an update to the the Rubbish Bin at JKR.com:
Oh pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease. I haven't written 750 pages of book seven, and if I had, I'd be very worried, as I'm not close to finishing it yet.

It begins with the familiar WB logo, flying through the clouds. We hear Sirius Black speaking, talking about Voldemort's return, then we see his face. Cut to Dumbledore, speaking to, presumably, the Wizengamot warning them of Voldy's return, that they should not ignore the signs. It quicky shows what looks like the windows of the Great Hall shattering, but I'm not sure. Then we see Harry, close up with his new hair cut (WHY!?), then Hermione, then Ron. We see shots of Hagrid, and then Umbridge(very quick shot). A small snippet of Harry learning Occlumency: Snape scorns him for being weak minded and Harry says something like "I'm not weak!" to which Snape replies, "Than PROVE it!!" Good lord, my memory sucks. Moving along...then we see: BELLATRIX, WOOT! They show her in all her evil glory, in one shot where it looks like she might be casting a spell or had just cast one. Cut to some more rapid shots of Harry and the gang in some forrest and then: dun, Dun, DUN!!!! VOLDEMORT!! IN SOME FOG!!!! LOOKING CREEPY!!!! Then we see Harry kiss Cho. Yup. They show it. It's kind of a dark shoot, so I couldn't tell if it was Cho, but I'm just guessing that it's her. Cut to a shot of London from afar, with a pack of wizards and witches on broomsticks flying towards it, then we see harry on his broom, from the left side, with a few D.A. flying in the background, as they whizz fast what looks like the London Bridge. And then my mind goes blurry. I think this is wherer I got so excited that I stated clapping, and stopped paying the utmost attention. Or maybe the teaser just ends there, cause then we see the title, with the Harry Potter theme starting up as they show it. FINITO.

The newsletter emphasized that the trailer will only be seen in theatres, so do not expect it to be online immediately.

Dobby axed from OoTP

Toby Jones, the man who voiced Dobby in the the second Potter flick, recently told MTV that the ex-house-elf won't be making an appearance in Film 5, although Kreacher will.

"I know that the filmmakers have a problem with each new film because the books are getting longer - there's so much to include in them," Jones remarked.

While Dobby's absence will not shock fans who have been following the films closely, it does open up some plot questions. In the book, it is Dobby who both divulges to Harry the secret of the Room of Requirement (where Harry and the other members of "Dumbledore's Army" meet to practice forbidden defensive spells), and materializes to warn Harry that his secret hideout is no longer safe from the prowling eyes of the increasingly powerful Ministry of Magic informant (and new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher), Dolores Umbridge. With Dobby's absence, it is unclear how these matters will be handled in the film.
