He may look like the classic comic supervillain Dr. Doom, but the man behind the man behind MF (Metal Face aka Metal Fingers) Doom's iron mask is no megalomaniac. He started as Daniel Dumile, aka Zev Love X, member of New York hip-hop pioneers KMD. His list of aliases is too long to spell out here, but it contains names any fan of underground hip-hop would recognize. He first appeared on 3rd Bass's hip-hop classic,"The Gas Face." Born in London and raised in Long Island, Doom has Adamantium ties to, and a deep heritage in hip-hop. His underground, stealth legend was such that he was able to perform at legendary parties at the Nuyorican Poets Cafe in 1998 without anyone knowing his identity, freestyling with a stocking mask over his face and wowing the crowd.
