Magnesium play experimental rock which is hugely influenced by the progressive movement. We are massively influenced by Rush, Pink Floyd, Metallica, Dream Theater and Opeth.
In early 2005 we managed to write and record two songs in Paisley, Glasgow with some fine sound engineers. It was a good experience and huge learning curve. After this we rocked out at our first gig, playing our own songs and covering Dream Theater's "Peruvian Skies".
Magnesium managed two more well received gigs before the drummer left for a Year Out, but noone knows where he really went.
We're now back in the practise studio with a brilliant new bassist, Vidar. We are still looking for a vocalist to complete the band. We aim to start recording and gigging before the end of February.

Magnesium Part x: The Prerequisite of things to come
Magnesium part 2 are now taking a deserved break after our extensive and (physically) exhausting tour of the 3Tuns! Mr Neil McZappa has taken a secondment to australia for a bit..whereas Mr Dougie McPortnoy is off to try his hand as an engineer in Northern Scotland.
The plan is to write a new album in a Tool-esque time frame.. so that means in about 5years there will b new material!
I have no doubt Magnesium will rise again as the core is as resiliant as concrete is to the Hoover Dam.

You guys are not bad keep up the good work !!! remember if you need anyone with management skills give me a shout will proberly only take 40% of your profits iam sure you will agree thats a good deal
Lauren is no longer the sole groupie... If you ever want any bakery-related products to induce punters to come to your gigs, just let me know...
well, as leader I shall figure it out! I guess I'm supposed to annoy you with silly comments, follow you around, go to gigs and chuck my underwear at you. If you dont mind though, I think I'll keep my undies to myself. Basically because I'm poor and cant afford to buy anew. lol
Awesome, we need more of this, once we are up and running u can be the no1 grouppie leader. Although i dont have a clue what this entails
. Ask Ross...or watch school of rock!
I'm your only groupie. Makes me feel sad, lonely and special all at once. lol. Ah well, at least I get to take your "comment virginity" (cue evil cackle). Sorry about that - got a bit carried away. Right, now then, find yourselves a singer etc and get some gigs sorted.
