The OFFICIAL Soilwork Bebo Page!
Me, Myself, and I
SOILWORK was founded in 1995 under the name INFERIOR BREED. In 1997 the band changed its title to SOILWORK which would become more than well-known within the Melodic Death scene only a couple of years later. In 2001, the Swedes released their third album "A Predator's Portrait" which marked the big breakthrough. The record got extremely good scores and critics from the press, especially in Germany, and made SOILWORK the new big hit next to their colleagues of IN FLAMES. After an acclaimed tour with ANNIHILATOR and NEVERMORE, SOILWORK went on rocking several summer open airs; amongst the many highlights, the show

Soilwork is:

Björn "Speed" Strid vocals 1995–present
Ola Frenning guitar 1998–present
Daniel Antonsson guitar 2006–present
Ola Flink bass 1998–present
Sven Karlsson keyboards 2001–present
Dirk Verbeuren drums 2004 – present

  • SOILWORK - SPEED STRID + DIRK VERBEUREN OFFERS UPDATE

SOILWORK's Bjorn 'Speed' Strid checks in with the following:

    Hello everyone,
The tropical heat has just arrived to Sweden and things are starting to shape up. Two festivals coming up real soon, looking forward to that.

Songwriting mania has just begun for both SOILWORK and another act I would like to introduce you to. I have just launched my solo project that so far remain nameless. I have somewhat of a clear picture in my head of how the music will sound like. This might come as a shock to some of you but think Welcome to my Nightmare by Alice Cooper, Destroyer with Kiss, early Aerosmith, a dose of Born to Run with Bruce Springsteen, a rocked out Elvis, some Motown, first Boston album and some early Steely Dan etc...

How about it folks? The sound is gonna be dirty retro classic rock with horns, strings and some spaced out percussion. I always wanted to do a real atmospheric rock album which has a pretentious, yet dirty dirty feel to it.. it's gonna be one hell of a project to make this all happen but I will give it the pace it deserves, just wanted to introduce you to it.

The line up so far features Sharlee D’ Angelo (Arch Enemy, ex-Mercyful Fate) on bass and David Andersson (session guitar Soilwork) and will be completed within a near future. In today's scene I guess it will be hard to find the right label for this, not really metal label material I suppose...interested labels can shoot an email to the following address: stridsolo@gmail.com

In other personal news I’m still doing vocal coaching in my hometown of Helsingborg in Sweden and will also be able to do vocal coaching when I head for Phoenix, AZ in the end of July. I'm also able to produce vocals in studio. If you want me to produce your vocals on your recording, don't hesitate to get in touch! Interested people can reach me at speedvocalcoaching@gmail.com.

    Please only serious offers!
    Peace out!
    Bjorn 'Speed' Strid

Drummer Dirk Verbeuren of Sweden-based metallers SOILWORK has issued the following update:
"Last April, I was fortunate enough to pay a visit to Brooklyn, New York for a recording engineered by world-renowned drummer Nir Z (CHRIS CORNELL, JOHN MAYER, GENESIS). And on July 1, 2009, the result of that session will be released as a custom MIDI set for The Metal Foundry SDX, an expansion pack for Toontrack's amazing Superior Drummer 2.0 drum sampling software! Furthermore, I'll be performing live at the official presentation of The Metal Foundry, which will take place at the London International Music Show from June 11 to June 14, 2009. So if you happen to be in the British capital this month, make sure to stop by for some fancy licks 'n flying sticks!"
Verbeuren recently announced plans to release his first instructional DVD:

"Without revealing too much, I can promise you this will not be your typical, run-of-the-mill instructional DVD," he said. "To put it simply, the contents of this beast WILL please anyone into SCARVE and SOILWORK, as well as some of my other bands. The plan is to start shooting this summer."

    Hi everybody,

Our sincere apologies to all of you who weren't contacted, before they were removed as a band member, moderator or before their band profile was removed.

In advance Bebo checked the respective profiles that were being taken over by Nuclear Blast Records for inactivity. The policy of Bebo prohibits taking over active profiles without contacting the creator. So any profile, which was taken over without any notice to the creator, has not been accessed in a period longer than 3 months.
In case our assumptions concerning the inactivity of your profiles were wrong, again our apologies to everybody, affected by this step.

We hope you can understand the label's obligation to our artists, to maintain their copyrights and publicity. Hands down, you have made the biggest step of all, by creating really successful and beautiful Bebo profiles. Thank you very much, as well on behalf of our artists. We really appreciate your time and efforts you have spent in creating and maintaining the profiles. Thanks.

Multiple unofficial band profiles, however, are quite confusing and not helpful for fans to get an update on the most recent news about the band.

Finally, we hope that you will continue to stay active on Bebo and enjoy the music of your favourite bands.

    Cheers,

    Nuclear Blast Records \m/
