i was at christmas fair tonight and i realised how much i hate people in general. let me set this up. the fair was at my 4 year old nephew's school. and as with most things like this all the money raised was given back to the school so they could use it for the kids of the people who went to this fair. imagine, if you will, that there is a giant hall filled with stally of games and things you can buy. games like tombolla's and lucky dips, a guess how many sweets in the jar (for the summiters im agine parents day carnival on the horshoe).

so my nephew and i are squeezing our way through the crowds trying to play as many games and get as many prizes as we can. we line up to play the chocolate dip (lucky dip with chocolate) and reason number 1 happens. some people will gladley push their way in front of a 4 year old! not people who are his age or with kids but adults! i have decided recently that i dont take kindly to these things so i mention to the man what he has just done and i recieve some colourful language in return. i'll admit that i love christmas and the joy and happiness that pops along with it, but i dont think that im too harsh in saying that swearing in front of a four year old at his christmas fair is a bit out of order? let me know if you feel it is.

after we get our go and win nothing we move on to reason number 2. some of the older children at the school (maybe 6 years old) are running a sweet stall, no prizes just a shop. a lady 40+ years in age is standing at the shop and very loudly informing the child serving her that she has been shortchanged, that she is not happy and that the kids act needs to 'shape up'. now you will think that a matter of money would be important, and believe me it would be to me if the sum she was short changed by was anything more that £2, but this lady was arguing, with a 6 year old over 20p! and even if he had short changed her by a lot more you dont make a fool out of a child who is obviously trying hard and is very embarressed!

so i think that in general the public suck, im counting me to dont worry. but i would do neither of the examples above. i am a christmas person and from december the 1st i think evry one should embrace it. be nicer to people, say hi to people, smile let someone past you if your in their way. if something does happen which you are annoyed about remember that it has already happed and that swearing and shouting wont help, but maybe if you stay calm and talk sensibly a solution may present itself
