About Me

Me, Myself, and I
Not really much to say here. Probably all you need to know is that I'm a person and I'm alive (that's right I'm NOT a zombie). Well I saw that the other side of my homepage was getting a bit long so I thought I'd try and even things up on this side :P . Well...where to start? Me...I am The Wanderer...my life, my life is going pretty good at the moment (other than being stuck at school which is starting to get really monotonous). I'll be glad when I finish school. I am currently working at Maccas and that's going pretty well - I enjoy working with the people there but the actual work is really boring and repetitive.

  • Hillsong!

I (as well as everybody else) got back from Hillsong on Saturday. It was such an awesome experience - one of the best ones that I've ever had before in my life. Some parts of the conference were pretty lame - such as the 'Tribal wars' which had a disturbingly high inflation rate of about 5000% per day. It was great listening to all the guest speakers - such as Matthew Barnett: a truly inspiring pastor with an amazing story. I don't suppose an yof you have heard about the Dream Centre in LA? For those of you that haven't - it's located in one of the worst areas of the city and outreaches to all the drug addicts, prostitutes and all the rejects of society. Matthew Barnett started it a couple of year ago, and he's only in his early twenties! But I would have to say that the highlight of the entire week would've been the last day. During the second last session of the day Reidhart Bonke was speaking. Reidhard Bonke is an awesome evangelist with an amazing passion for God...some of the stories that he had to tell were just incredible, but amongst all those there are two analogies that he used that I will never forget.

The first one: The blood of Christ is like a bar of soap. No matter how much you study it's effects, no matter how close you get to it or how much you look at it it's not going to do any good for you. You can even be around people who are using it and in the right environment: but unless you actually reach out and use the soap then you're not going to receive the benefits from it. (very funny story behind the way he used that analogy to dumbfound an athiest on television).

The second one: How the annointing of God is like a spacesuit. When man tries to travel through space, if he goes without the proper equipment then he will die. But if he wears a spacesuit then he is completely protected form the elements and can go places that he could never have gone before on his own.

I was glad that I was able to go this year to the Hillsong Conference, and I would strongly recommend to anybody who is reading this to go next year. It's an experience of the lifetime and a decision that you won't regret.

  • And so it begins

Today exam block started...the dreaded week has finally been set into motion. I don't really see why everyone is so stressed about it. I reckon it's a really great idea that they've set K8 as a recreation room - it makes exam block so much more fun than last year. How did everyone go with their assessment today? I had two exams: Maths A and Ancient History. They both seemed like pretty easy exams...but I guess I'll have to wait and see what the results are :S.

  • WHY?

I don't know if anybody else agrees with me (although they should), but chapel today was awesome. It was just as good as being on a camp! God moved in such a powerful way among our grade...it was a truly amazing sight to behold. It's so refreshing and invigorating to know that our God can move in us in such a powerful way. And yet...many people take Him for granted, neglect Him and yet when trouble comes....they blame God not themselves for their troubles. This is something that puzzles me. They've turned their back on the answers and then they blame the one that they have been ignoring for all the problems: it is definitely not logical. Why do people do this? Most people would probably answer that it's in human nature but you can easily overcome this: it's just a matter of willpower. What really stirrs me up though is that we could have a chapel like the one we had today EVERY week but people come to chapel with a poor attitude: they don't expect anything to happen, they muck around, and generally just don't give two stuffs. God can only move when we let Him, and the only reason why He won't is because we won't let Him. People can be such idiots. Wake up.
