I'm sure you will do it, you are smarter than me, you have that natural inteligence where you just know stuff. I have to work for my smarts. Uni lecturers usually invent it all themselves and like to show off their own research. they can't resist it. but if you didn't know it i'm sure it wasn't very important anyway. stacatto and legato, thats pretty much all i need to know. cresendo and ralentando. you can pretty much get by on those.lol I don't know what you were watching but i remember guitar strap coming loose and the whole song falling out of time for a whole verse. improvment on the previous year mind you. aww when i think on it, you've missed out on so much!! I just hope this years is like the Dundee NYAs cos they were just awesome! Laura and i have a theory that we were the ones that caused the NYA to become so popular, because it wasn't as popular the first year we went, but then it went huge. all because we were awesome. lol xx

its just practice with close reading. by the time i sat my higher exam I could predict the questions just from reading the passage. which saves a LOT of time. most people didn't get finished their final close reading exam. I did, with time to spare. practice, practice, practice. but it is a gift and a curse, everything i have ever read since I have broken down and analysed, which sometimes wastes it...and is rather geeky. but I got an A so no complaining. and if you were estimated at an A, you can get an A!! confidence, the little engine that could. I may be clever, but in university i'm a complete simpleton next to any of the doctors or professors. they are mega smart, to the point where nothing they say makes sense to anyone but themselves. yeah that would be a lie. you'd be great! we'd all love your support, perhaps we wouldn't cock it up so badly if you were involved. xx

aww, don't worry you'll manage it. close reading and discursive essays on novels...will be no problem this time around. Turns out i'm not as clever as i thought i was. I've sort of hit my limit i think. haha, you really wouldn't like to live inside my mind if you don't like heisenberg uncertainty principle!! I have to cope with weirder stuff than that. wave particle dualities, oh and electrons are really probability density functions. I regularly have to compute the ultimate fate of the universe, quantum tunneling and possibly the weirdest thing is that 0!=1 why are you avoiding being in the band...its fun failing infront of a couple hundred people! xx

I did no work for todays exam, and i mean no work. I must have done 2-3 hours tops. and the ironic thing is i think that will be the best result from all of them. tbh exams are more rubbish when you do study for them, and you still fail. Those are terrible!! You won't fail again! I have faith in you that you will be fantastic at it and you will do brilliantly you'll be fine, your awesome!! and yay, a get together. especially now that you are in the band!! it has been decided, by me and Laura, there is no backing out for you now!! xx

yay! hopefully Fidge will agree to us being on the team then! I can wait until September for NYA, but I really want to see everyone sooner than that. I'm just finished my exams today, its such a relief cos they were going so horridly!! I mean I've been a few times when i was still at school, but it never really did magic for me. even though my picture was in their promotional pac for physics students. although i was on strathclydes website too... I help promote the physics courses !!! shock! lol sounds a little like my re classes, they were quite layed back things. xx

no way he played with Eric Clapton! no way. thats double awesome! i've turned into a strange person now that i liek guitars... There is too much dedication to structure for me to do graded exams. I like to throw my own interpritation onto the music i play.you can't really do that for grades, they want you to play whats on the score. just focus on the exams you need. don't waste your time on the ones that won't secure you a place. they don't matter and you will never need them anyway. I didn't need half the exams i did. you'll do just fine. really, you'll get to Glasgow, if thats what you really want to achieve you will get there. xx

your dad sounds awesome! i have no woodworking experience, I do electronics and set up. although i have used a wood router on my guitar and didn't totally destroy it. 12 chords? thats nothing!! I could go to the guitar now and find 12 chords i don't know. and defo." this children is how we get chicks by the power of solos!!" but its just scales usualyy, but our school did have a sucky guitar teacher. i'm self taught, its the best way. what grade you at this now? grade 8 violin must be pretty extreme. i've seen grade 7 piano and it gave me a headache just looking at the score! I would have failed on the oral exam. i can't sing back the tune, my voice can't get to the right notes. I find it highly unfair that they expect you to do that. you'll get to uni just fine i'm sure. you clever musical person you. xx
