  • Back for good

My last couple of weeks in the US and A were great. Charlie and I laid wasted to NYC and then took our particular brand of idiocy to Philly for a weekend. We of course ran up the Rocky stairs (and filmed it Sir Digby Chicken Caesar style) and then looked at some cracked bell and (not-so) old buildings. Great city though, cheaper than NYC.

I got back to Blighty on Saturday and went straight to a Mountbatten party in Shoreditch once I'd dumped my bags which was good fun and it was great to see some familiar faces.

I'm now back in Epworth chilling and enjoying seeing my family. I was supposed to go to chamber in Nott'm yesterday but the bad weather and my bad luck ended that. My mother's car wouldn't start meaning I missed my 1st train, the 2nd train was late meaning I missed my connecting train and the next train was running late thus forcing me to turn back. Chambers were understanding and we rescheduled. And then my train back home hit some debris on the track causing it to have to back up to Thorne where my Dad eventually had to collect me from. Hmmm... it would appear that British weather and the trains were something I didn't miss while I was abraod.

I have 10 weeks until pupillage starts. Now the job hunt begins!

Only 2 weeks left. Aaagh! Glad I've had this chance to extend my stay out here but now I'm dreading going back a little bit. Don't get me wrong, I looking forward to seeing my family, mountbatten and uni friends in London and Newcastle, and even some school friends at Christmas. But if I can't find a job quite quickly to earn some coin before March I'll be left wondering why I chose to cut NYC short when I did. I've seen people struggling, and I wonder if I'll end up in the same boat. Work's been very easy-going these past 5 weeks and I honestly feel I get paid to just show up at the office. No source of income in England will be a problem, but I'm prepared to roll up my sleeves and do anything really.

In November I had fun with Wadey and then Phil on their trips out here. My new partner-in-crime Charlie and I have had a good laugh and probably drunk too much. Case in point would be Friday's meal with Rach and her new fella having been to an open bar beforehand. All good fun, not that I remember it too clearly. Other than that I've not really done a lot since coming back out here. Or maybe I have and my worsening drink-related amnesia has deleted it from memory.
