- Hey everyone,
We are a local Mid North Coast funk/rock/punk band called the funky munks. We started out a few months before our first battle of the bands at port macquarie where we managed to grab 6th! And since then there has been no turning back! Over the past year we've done MANY gigs, battle's, etc and had placed 2nd at this yrs kempsey battle.There has been a member change and a more "mature" sound to the band has evolved.
Sorry its been so long since an update!!! We are quite busy at the moment rehearsing for our debut EP - which will be recored in late Aug and hopefully be out MID SEPTEMBER!!! SO STAY IN TOUCH EVERYONE!! Don't hesiste to drop us a line sometime, or check us out at a gig. The CD will be 8 of our best songs , and we are EXTREMELY excited.

YOUNG BLOOD!! DISSAPOINTED....
ok guys, so we spent about 4-5 practises getin all our shit down pat ready for our young blood heat. we knew we had to beat how we played last yr so we focused on everything. stage presence, professionalism...everything.. and we were really pleased with how we played and the crowds reaction.. they fucking ruled!!!
but anyways, so we finished our set played 6 originals and 1 cover and the crowd loved it and we went off. there was a metal band, and a young girl band. all of them did a really good job..we honestly thought we had a good chance in goin through.
the time came, and the judges said the metal band won, we were dissapointed..but happy that we put on a good show and people liked us. thanks alot to everyone that came and watched and we will have a CD out ASAP. next month or so. drop us a line or whateva..we're friendly blokes. here are sum pics from the nite. hopefully we will get some footage of this night up on the site in the next few days!

Helloo people, we just got our results through the mail and we came 5th out of 12 bands at 2006 Port Macq Battle. We were pretty stoked, as we didnt have a bass player and were pretty bummed at the time!! Jugde's comments coming soon...
