    • Remember I said there'd be goodies?

      I lied.

      Or rather; life presented me with some painful Irony.
      The internet banking, while technically 'working' was correct as of the 13th, and neglected to mention that the money spent since then was pretty much all I had. So yes the ATMs have indeed stopped liking me.

      Which would have been fine, I had enough in my wallet to get a couple of knockoff watches and wallets, maybe a decent hotel for my last night too.

      Until I went drinking. It turns out that any benefit in the drink being cheap is quickly overcome by it being drank, and me being drunk - buying lots more of it.

      Then I had a 'Good Idea' which involved going down the stairs to sit down. Next thing I know - I'm lying down with someone pressing napkins against my forehed and telling me not to move. The last few steps having gone from below to above me far faster than I would have liked.

      So I'm helped up, bandaged up and carted across the road to the clinic for some stitches and medication, and a bill. Leaving me with enough - hopefully - to get me to the airport tomorrow, and that's it.

      The up-side to all this is I got some nice photos* along the way, and a shiny new scar for my collection. And tomorrow night I'll be in my own bed!

      So that's it, I'm coming home. Looking forward to seeing everbody in the flesh once more, catching up and all that. See you soon!

      Yep, no longer in Australia am I.

      I'm currently in a dirt-cheap little hotel in Kuala Lumpur called 'The Shuttle Inn', a pinch at 11 euro-ish per night. Which is just as well because at any moment the ATMs will cease to be my friend.* My phone having already given up on getting me any signal at all.

      And most irritatingly half of my camera charger decided it preferred being in Australia to being in my bag. So no photo's for you lot until you all sign a 'Make simple electronic equipment easier to find' petition and send it to the Malaysian embassy ASAP.

      It's pretty damn hot & humid here, every day is a two-shower day.
      Once I'm used to it I'm gonna go check out the jungle :)

      *I've just been able to check my interweb banking and it seems I'm not in quite the financial crisis I once thought, which is nice. I may even be able to bring home some goodies if you're lucky. Immitation Rolex, anyone?

      As mentioned my phone is of no use to me right now, so If you want to contact me it's pretty much just Email/bebo comments for now. ETA home on the 19th / 20th at some point; more detail on that next time.

      Yeah, it's been a while. Sorry.

      I'm now in Brisbane, chilling in a fairly swanky hostel called 'Bunk'.

      Last night was spent with my new german roommates getting wasted in another hostel in town, which was nice.

      The weather here's incredible, I'm starting to think seriously about getting rid of the head mop for pure survival reasons. I'm not made for this sort of heat.

      All in all things are going well, I'm here in Brisbane until Tuesday, then back to Sydney for a few days, then a week or so in Malaysia. Then home for Christmas. Looking forward to seeing y'all.

      More to come. Eventually.
