  • 10 yrs

    Remember when we were in grade school and they would make us practice our essay writing skills by asking us any version of this question: "Where do u see yourself in 10 yrs?"

    Well now that we are older, can u remember what you were doing 10 yrs ago? Are you anywhere near where your 10 yr-younger self thought u were going to be at?

    I have been thinking of this latetly. And I want to document it so in 10 more yrs... I can see how much shit has changed for me once again.

    Here it is. 10 yrs ago... may 29th... 1997. I was 15. It was the end of my freshman yr in high school. captn of a winning vb team, class pres, living in Fabens, TX. That was the last month my brother lived w/ us. He moved to MO that summer. We later cought up to him in Dec. ... dec. 11th to be exact.

    so back to may 29th, my brother had just had his 18th bday party. we sloughtered a pig out back and had "carnitas estilo Guanajuato" - all I knew about GTO was that it was a city. Arturo was visiting Fabens. The twins, Letty and Monica visited w/ their babies. Rebecca and Jorge were my best classmates, Celene and I hung out a lot out side of school.

    Later that summer I had my bday party. Huge blow out w/ an inflatable bouncie thing. haha It wasn't until later that my life was flipped. Mom had that accident on her truck on the way to work. Long story short, we packed Belle, Summer, and everything we could fit in our uhaul truck and moved to cape girardeau, mo. Boy, that was the worse trip of my life. Leaving everything behind, including that one boy that I have yet to forget.

    anyhoo, now I am living in GDL... after having lived in GTO (turns out it's a state too~!!), in MO, IA, and Austin. Who'd a thought. Single as can be. Don't have Summer (my cat) but do have Papacito living at mom's and Estinky my other kitty living here w/ me. Jobless and still a student. In the long run- by now. I figured I would have had a fam or at least something else besides just my cat. But what I do have that goes w/ what I was thinking 10 yrs ago... I have a college degree and on my way to getting another degree. Oh yea, and I'm still planning on a big bday bash!!! Guess shit could be worse.

    We'll see what the next 10 yrs have for us.

    oh yea, Belle, that dog, she still lives and loves to bite ppl!! :)

    I feel better now.

    so far so good though. I hope I can get these shit classes out of the way now and kick some ass in 4th (seeing that I won't have pharm to take!) yay!!

    I was just going to add a favorite quote to that blog I started a while back, but not only did I not find that blog but I read a few of my previous ones and realized how great it was to go back in time and see what I was bitching about, celebrating, or just making a memo on a fab day. So today... I feel confused.

    me 2...but im moving in with my dad next yr. i cant wait...my mom doesn't know it yet tho...im too stressed at my moms so my dad is making me and my sis a room and then he'll take my mom to court and i can deside if i want to live with him or her...and of course i will choose him...haha...i mean i love my mom but she has new priorities...my half bros so she doesnt care bout me that much...and dont say she does...cause i know that she doesn't which is why im gettin out so i can concentrate on bein a journalist instead of my mom and j...her husband...

    Hey sexy lady! Things were good last year, hopefully this year will bring us both positive stuff. Are you heading back to Cornell at all this year? I probably won't go back until Homecoming, was briefly thinking about spring pledging but I just won't be able to pull it off while I'm off at my internship. Time is flying though.
