- My favorite favorite is bluegrass and Appalachian ballads--Gillian Welch, Allison Krauss, Bill Monroe, Del McCoury, Ricky Scaggs, Nickel Creek, both Songcatcher soundtracks, Doc Watson, Ralph Stanley, EmmyLou Harris, etc. However, I also am completely in love with Michael Buble, John Mayer, Keane, Maroon 5, Lifehouse, Dido, Green Day (even though I totally disagree with their politics--great sound and Billy Joe is so cute!), Damien Rice, The Shins, Franz Ferdinand. Love that stuff i used to listen to as a teenager too-The Cure, Depeche Mode, The Smiths, Cocteau Twins, U2, and all those other groups that were "alternative" before Alternative became mainstream!
