    • My First Red Card, By Mark Smith, age 21 and a half

      It was the nintieth minute, Park 2-0 Dun Boyne. Dun Boyne had a corner, the result of a string of about a hundred suspect free kicks awarded either around, or occasionally, inside our box.

      John Kearns was posing, whats new!

      So the ball was scrambled away from the corner and Brian Rigley knocked the ball anywhere into Dun Boynes half. I continued to chase, being urged on by david endersen, who had just taken a bite from his prawn sandwich. The dun boyne fat bastard full back tried to side step me. The ball was there to be won... I think!

      After hearing the whistle blow I attempted an audacious lob. I happened to turn away before observing the result of this effort, however i believe it was heading top corner.

      Next thing i knew the full back was chasing me, hands raised. He could run when he wanted to. Apparently I could have "ended his career" with the tackle, a bit of an exaggeration I think. You can still drive a bin lorry with a sore ankle!

      From a distance I see Mike Bernie inserting his gum shield, backup was on its way I just had to continue to retreat. Fortunately things cooled down, not before the Dun Boyne coach gave me a sly shoulder.

      There was only ever going to be one result with this ref, I was off, the third red Park saw that day after Paul McGinty and coach Jim "Flumuxed" Shiggins were also sent for early baths.
