I thought I'd do a blog on this as it happens so much, and it upsets way too many people. So many people have different views on stereotyping so I'm going to share mine.
I again have a few views on it, people say who say 'oh we shouldn't stereotype!' are being very hypocritical as EVERYONE stereotypes, whether it's intentional or non-intentional. When we look at a person we look at them for 3-30 seconds and our brain automatically puts them into a category. This was initially for our own safety, for example if they looked scary, don't go up to them etc. Most the time we are un-aware of this. If you go up to me now and say 'oh I've never stereotyped anyone' I would straight up call you a liar.
The problem these days are that people have made too many categories and tend not to keep them to themselves. When you have something bad to say, don't fucking say it. Common sense isnt it? Unfortunately it's not as easy to be done as it is to be said. People get angry and let their emotions get to the better of them and blurt out 'well your a fucking prep, now fuck off'' or something like that. I admittedly have been a victim of saying bad shit, and have had people say alot of bad shit about me. Now-a-days I stick to not following the categories. For example:
I death metal scream, but I wear A&F and Hollister.
I'm not really afraid of what people would think. They can say shit to me, or about me. I am who the fuck I am. Everyone is like this, honestly speaking. We don't follow, people just stereotype us and say 'oh your like a scene kid' or 'oh your like an emo' when honestly your just being yourself. I find it hard to understand why people would want to be them... If you say your a category then you really aren't that, honestly you're just another follower...
Well yeah those are my views, if you have been assed to read all of this, then what are your views.
I doubt anyone will comment this back but whatever =]
