Me, Myself, and I: As the first lady of DMP, Aya captures the true essence of the 1.5 Generation Baraji artist. Born in the busy city of Shinjuku to a Japanese mother and Kiwi father, Aya began her life being "different" in a uniformed culture. She is fully bilingual in her lyricism, harnessing the easy flow of her New Zealand upbringing, yet taking pride in both her homelands. There is no doubt that this artist has her roots deeply entwined in her Japanese heritage.

At 18, Aya has worked many successful club sets and stages,
including the DMP "Black and Red" party held at Kiss and, on a larger scale, the Baraji concert held at Sky City Theatre [her debut performance with DMP]. As for her style, her ability to capture raw emotion in both lyrical flow and melody is a true reflection of her identity as a true artist and poet. In her self reflection, her music and her expression, she is the key to the future of Baraji music and the evolution of the 1.5 Generation.
