- Thursday at Hagues signals the start of a new era for UNIVERSAL REMEDY!! Following on from a successful end to 2008 which saw the then Lisburn 4 piece play Belfasts "Rock the Hall" concert alongside Supergrass and The Pigeon Detectives, the guys have decided to add a brand new member who promises to add another level of excitement to the band!! Christine Bracewell steps out for her 1st official headline showing with the guys since being asked to join in March, making the four a five and adding another string to their bow!! Christine Joined Universal Remedy on stage on a number of occasions towards the end of last year including the New Years Eve showpiece and although this is her 1st band, she has worked with lead singer Duncan Campbell on previous projects and he is confident that Christine can add a lot of warmth to the sound if not a little glamour to UNIVERSAL REMEDY!! The bands general vibe is similar to before with chorus hooks that you can’t help but sing for days. Their sheer unadulterated Power-Pop sound merged with the best of Melodic Rock has simply been improved by their new ability to add the Indie/folk sound of Christine’s vocal and no matter if it’s lead, dual or backing it just seems to make sense. Along with their new line up UNIVERSAL REMEDY will also unveil a selection of new and exciting material which they have spent the last few months putting together. The songs are everything you would want them to be for a good night out, upbeat, snappy and so much fun. This gelled together with their already popular sing-alongs should prove to create an unforgettable set. The band are currently working hard in the studio recording a back catalogue of songs both new and old and they hope to have a brand new EP out in mid/late summer!! Until then there is no better way to join the UNIVERSAL REMEDY party than to experience it 1st hand and be part of this “Brand New Start” of what promises to be an exciting year for the fun filled LISBURN act!!!
