- "I am writing to commend you on the fine work your office did in helping me purchase my property in Athenry, Co. Galway. After having a sale fall through at the eleventh hour by a private seller, I was a bit hesitant in purchasing another property. I met with Barry Kelly of Remax Premier Properties, late one evening at a time that suited MY schedule, and he provided me with all the information I needed to assist me in making my decision to purchase. As I was anxious to finalise the sale as soon as possible, I felt that as a buyer, Remax Property West were extremely helpful in answering all my queries and helped me get a property that suited both my young daughter & I. I had “sale agreed“ by 22nd March and it was closed & finalised 1st May 2007 – Less than 6 weeks later!!! Now that’s service with a smile!"

Just a few memories that make him special to me,
Calling him Gonzo on the phone when I was kid, just to annoy him so he'd run over to our house & tickle me to death.. Getting me to play with his cousins so he could head off up town with Speeds.. When he ran away from home & lived with us for 2 weeks.. When he called me Sis.. The way he knocked on our door, so LOUD.. The way he'd tell Peggy her hair was fabulous & then he'd mess it on her.. Now we will try to reflect Barry’s Life with gifts Of the Offerty, but unfortunately, we know that we cannot do justice to the huge appetite for life that Barry had.
First, we have Speedy with a Book of Pictures from Barry’s 30th Birthday celebrations. Anyone looking at these can only have one thought “that boy loved to have fun”!!! Barry’s ability to create laughter and good feeling to everyone whose life he touched was legendary. Everyone wanted to know Barry and to reach out to him and he in turn opened his arms wide and accepted them with his own brand of “Barry Lovin”!!
Next we have Eric and Martin with model cars and His chauffeurs cap ….. Apparently the Jet Ski wouldn’t fit up the Church!!
Barry was quite fond of the finer things in life when his bank balance or Jim would allow it!!!!!! He always looked the part even if it meant that he showed up the mayor!! He loved to drive and nothing gave him more pleasure than to drive Phillip’s limo’s to weddings or to pull up outside a big 5 star hotel and show them how to create an entrance for his passengers!
John is bringing up a Remax sign. Barry with the help of the Remax team had found his niche in life. “This face sells” he was often heard to say and he loved that job. It provided him the openness and contact with people from all walks of life that Barry’s spirit craved, always moving, always talking, always reaching out and touching lives in his own unique way.
David is bringing up his programme from the Athenry performance of The Field. Barry loved the stage and the stage loved him back. We know that he and Kitty are working on the finer points of his method as we speak!!!!! He had just received a part in “The Field” in Galway and he was already warning “the bull” to watch out because he was going to wipe the stage with his performance, and I have no doubt that he would!!!
Anthony and Kevin are bringing up a jersey of his beloved Tottenham signed by all the friends who could get to it. Barry loved to be in a crowd, to be in the midst of it, watching the matches on a Saturday, shouting to the Liverpool boys that spurs would rise again and when he was proved wrong he would shrug and smile and tell a few more jokes. He never got down and we should remember that today. Barry always smiled and made you smile, so today we will smile even though our hearts are broken.
Joanne and James are bringing the Bread and Wine, a symbol of our Faith. Barry had a very strong Faith. He may not have been home in time for Sunday morning Mass - …..”sorry about that Father” - but prayed often and still had his childhood scapulars. We believe that God has a higher purpose for our Barry. A purpose he deserved, and while we are sad to see you call him home Lord, we thank you for the thirty years of love we all shared.
