  Truly memorable was in 1990/1991 when the entire top three years of Dunstans got pissed on the same Wednesday evening. Chopper (then housemaster. ) was away in London, eating or attending a meeting or something, so Fr Francis was in charge for the night. A Dobson regime was always cue for some fun.
  
  This coincided with the beer delivery. No idea what the score is now, but in 'them days' VIth form could order in their favourite ale for Sunday lunch. One can a week. So, Chopper away, beer due to be delivered....ring Peter Dominics Off License (now Threshers) and "double the order. No, bloody well triple it!"
  
  That afternoon the beer arrived and was whisked away upstairs while Fanny Dobson was saying Dorm Mass. After evening prayers....let the party begin! It really was great. Rooms full of people. There was so much ale we had to invite third year in. (GCSE year. No idea what year that is now!) You couldn't see down the gallery for smoke.
  
  The first years were on rotation down to see Dobson to stop him coming upstairs. One of them went to cnfession 4 times in one evening! They played charades, asked Francis to discuss cricket and Medjugorje with them. With hind siht they did a great job and probably deserved more than access to the toaster the next day for their troubles!
  
  The drinking went on past midnight. Some puking, some cig burns. All good stuff.
  
  The next day, some sore heads. How did we get rid of the empties? (And I reckon there were 250 of them.) Well, that was the term Ampleforth introduced recycling bins for your coke cans at the tucky. Mighty full they were over the next few days!
