U-know-ur-Tongan-when...??
u dip your ma inside of your cocoa or milo to eat
u think cereal is ma paku paku inside a bowl of cocoa
your parents pour orange soda into french bread and call that dessert
u get scolded anytime u mau mau your food
u act bad at church & your parents pinch your alanga
your mom has lace curtains in the living room
at church dances all the older women have glittery, sequin, shiney dresses
u have big holes in your back yard from the umu
u have a bright blue tarp over your driveway & call it a garage
when your dad blows his nose w/out a tissue by just covering one nostril w/his finger & usually blows out onto the street
when it's your birthday and time to blow the candles and there are none hahahaha.. so u have to blow one of the matches LOL
when your mom has a dress of every color in her closet.
when your little sister has a "wedding dress" to go to church.
your birthday is different from your birth cirtificate
you put balloons on your christmas tree
when you have atleast one sibling in the wrong grade.
when u say fank u instead of THANK U
when you have a little sister named Mele, a little brother named Sione.
when your mom insists she sings the highest note in church.
when you see many shoes@the front door
when the tapa cloth, quilts and the mats are airing out in the front yard.
when your back aches from the tapa cloths and the mats under your bed waiting for the kavengaz
when you have the Tongan trademark:nifo koula (gold grill)
when you have your hair in two french braids all through high school (2 da gals)
when your dad disiplines you and tells you to be quiet and stop crying, yet he still continues to hit you. ((BE QUIET...*WHACK*....STOP CRYING.....*WHACK*)) **he just doesn't get the picture**
when your mom insists that you wear a puletaha(puletasi) to your formal
(dis 2 da tongan gals)when the only formal date you can get is with your cousin, brother, or your own dad...or with another tongan..(which again is probably your cousin)
when your dad brags that Tonga is the BEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD yet you still live in the U.S.A or Australia.
when your mom and dad fakapale's the tau'olunga with $20.00 and over, yet youre starving
when your dad starts every lecture with...."YOU KNOW IN TONGA!!!......"

Hi Nan. It was good i went to 2 weddings first a palangi one at 1.30 and i went to the Tongan one stayed there 'till 5 then went back to the other wedding reception at but i really wanted to stay with Mele and dance hard out.. Ok will see you at Inala,,,,,
